If you just looked at the above photo, don’t worry, I was not run over by a car during this photo shoot. That is our friend in the car who laughed a little bit when he saw us shooting photos, and we quickly moved aside for him. His car looks much closer to me in the photo than it actually was! haha I digress. . .

How fabulous is this studded moto jacket! It is designed by San Francisco Bay Area based fashion brand Tart Collections. I love love love Tart Collections! Not only are they based here in the Bay Area, they make the perfect, most fabulous attire for our California Casual lifestyle. Love that!

This moto jacket has the most intricate studded design. To make it even more appealing, the jacket is vegan leather. Love that! So very Bay Area 😉

Since our weather has been chilly lately, I have been wearing this jacket over a thin sweater; as pictured in this post. The jacket itself it not too thick, so when the weather starts to change in the spring season, it will be easy to transition with a long sleeve tee underneath, then short sleeves. It is perfect for staying warm when the fog rolls in this spring!

Tart collections run true to size. I wear a 6/8 and this jacket is a size medium. It fits perfectly! You can find this jacket, and more fabulous pieces online at TartCollections.com. Be sure to use coupon code HOLIDAY20 now through December 30, 2016 in order to save 20% off your purchase. Love that!

Pantone color of the year 2017

It is that time of year again! Pantone has announced the color of the year, 2017! The color of 2017 is named by Pantone as “Greenery.”

Greenery of course is exactly what it’s name implies; it’s green. This is a natural green hue. It is a medium green which will be easy to wear as a neutral tone in 2017. Greenery also happened to be splashed all over the New York Fashion Week runways for the spring/summer 2017 seasons. You can read more about that here.

Here is a green moment from New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2017.

What do you think of Greenery for 2017? Is this a color you can see yourself wearing throughout the year?

I have to admit, I like Greenery! Green is already one of my favorite colors behind blue and purple. I have a few pieces in my wardrobe which are around this green hue, so I am looking forward to pulling them out to wear in 2017.

In addition to Greenery, look for military green in the spring/summer 2017 family of green hues. If Greenery isn’t your thing, you can look to military green as your way of rocking the green trend in 2017.

Although Greenery did appear on the runway quite often for the spring/summer 2017 season in New York, many designers mixed it into prints, as you can see above from Supima, rather than use it as a solid color. It should be interesting to see, now that Greenery was deemed the Color of the Year 2017, if it appears in a solid state on store shelves for spring, or if designers keep it mixed in patterns.

Stay tuned! I will be attending the shows at New York Fashion Week this upcoming February to see what will be hot for the fall/winter 2017/2018 seasons. Do you think Greenery will be a hot color for fall too? I will let you know!

Thanks for stopping by,

Puffy sleeves for fall

Wearing: gold mother of pearl earrings / Chanel sunglasses / MAC lipstick in Fabby / puffy sleeve navy top (runs big, order size down if between sizes) / navy pleated skirt / gold sculptured ring / Chanel Emeraude nail polish / patent leather pink east/west tote / blue grey patent pumps

Volume seems to be the silhouette of the fall 2016 season. We are seeing ruffles, puffy sleeves, ruffle sleeves, puffy hi-lo skirts (for dressy occasions), and sleeves which could be mistaken for something from the 1980s. While this was a little runway trend for the fall 2016 season, it seems to have exploded on the streets.

Exaggerated puffy sleeves are a bit much for us here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although puffy sleeves are intimidating, they can be worn daily when done in an understated way. That is what drew me to this navy puffy sleeve top. There is enough volume in the sleeves to make them puffy, yet they are not over-the-top. This makes the top on trend, puffy, yet understated. How very Bay Area! Love that!

I wore this puffy sleeve top with my favorite navy pleated skirt to church, and then to dinner over the weekend. It was really comfortable, and I felt runway ready. This is a great top to wear now while the fall temperatures are moderate. The fabric is comfortable, the sleeves offer volume, and it is easy to dress up or down. Just wait until I pair it with jeans! Fabulous!

This puffy sleeve top can also be worn in a creative work environment since it is not overbearing, yet offers a little bit of sass with it’s volume. It is also perfect for weekend-wear such as jeans, a denim skirt, dress shorts (weather permitting), mini skirts, and midi skirts; such as how I styled it in this post.

This puffy sleeve top runs a little bit big. I feel like I should have ordered one size down. It looks a little bit large on me. If you are considering ordering it, and are often between sizes, go down one size. You can find this puffy sleeve top in navy online here, and online here.

What do you think of puffy sleeves or ruffle sleeves for the fall 2016 season? Is this a trend you will be rocking?
