Cool summer day in Long Beach

I took a quick trip to Long Beach for some business and got to enjoy a meal at my favorite sushi place in Long Beach, Sushi Mafia. They have a huge menu with so many choices! I try to order a different special roll every time I go. So yummy!

The weather was mild, so I was able to wear this knit top with classic cut jeans. My top is on major sale by the way! Love that!

We stayed at the Westin Long Beach and it was really nice. We could easily walk to restaurants downtown, as well as the beach. It was a quick trip for a couple days and we drove, so it felt like I spent quite a bit of time driving on highway 5. haha

I know I will be back to Long Beach soon, so I wanted to share a few of my favorite places with you! Trung Nguyen E-Coffee is located by Long Beach State Univ. and offers varieties of tea and coffee. It is really good! Also, if you like acai bowls, Pack-A-Bowl is a short distance by car from the University and has an option to build your own bowl; which is what I did. Yum! Lastly, if you like sushi, Sushi Mafia downtown has a large menu and is always yummy. Love!

Well, summer vacation has another month and fall is hitting stores, so stay tuned for more coverage of both!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hersheypark on a summer day

wearing: sunglasses / hoop earrings / blue tee / east/west bag / denim shorts (old, also love this pair) / blue nail polish / sneakers /

Who doesn’t love Hersheypark?! We spent a fun summer day at Hersheypark where my adventurous kids rode several roller coasters and I, the aging adult, stuck to the tamer rides. haha

The weather was quite warm, so in the middle of the day we took a break and enjoyed some dipping dots. Cookies and cream is my favorite. Yum!

At the end of the day, it was time to slow down and enjoy a chocolate themed dinner at The Chocolatier. This was my second time eating there, so I made sure to indulge in a Reese’s martini and chicken sandwich complete with chocolate drizzle. My martini was garnished with a mini Reese’s. So good! This place is a chocolate fans dream!

If you order a milkshake, be prepared for a shake the size of dessert for four. They are huge! I apologize for not getting a photo, we had two shakes, and they were a lot of food! Delicious, but a lot of food! Whoa!

So, I have to say, if you visit Pennsylvania, you cannot skip Hershey! There is a museum downtown and Hersheypark is a ton of fun for all ages. Plus, the Hershey company store has chocolates you can’t find elsewhere. We definitely brought some chocolate home with us! Yum!

Thanks for stopping by!

Gettysburg day trip

wearing: sunglasses / hoop earrings / olive tee / denim shorts (old, also love this pair) / blue nail polish / east/west bag / sneakers /

“Four score and seven years ago. . .” Gettysburg is where the civil war’s famous turning point took place, and it is where Lincoln gave his historic speech. It is a place everyone needs to visit at least once in their lifetime.

We toured the downtown area and visited the Will’s House where Lincoln slept the night before his speech as well as explored other historic sites around Gettysburg. The weather was perfect, and we were able to really walk and explore everything in the area.

Of course, while exploring you get hungry! We enjoyed lunch at the Blue and Gray Bar and Grill. I had a crab cake sandwich which was delicious. Highly recommend! After lunch we found an ice cream shop, the Baltimore Hill Creamery. I had the cookie and cream ice cream, which was so yummy!!

After we explored the town, we got in the car and drove through where the significant battles took place. We stopped at all the significant markers and enjoyed absorbing history.

We were staying in Harrisburg, so we returned for dinner. There is a really cool restaurant near the capitol named the Sturges Speakeasy. We ate there during our last visit and had to return! They have local draft beers and a variety of food on the menu. I enjoyed the chicken pasta, which was yummy. If you visit, request to sit on the patio, it’s so pleasant and relaxing!

So, next time you are in Pennsylvania, be sure to visit Gettysburg and absorb the history!

XOXO
