Loafers and loafer pumps for fall 2012: the trend continues

Loafers and loafer pumps came back with a vengeance for fall 2011, and for fall 2012 they have shown no sign of slowing down. The menswear trend is huge this season, and loafers, as well as loafer pumps, make the perfect base for the menswear inspired looks this fall season.

Loafers for the fall 2012 season are being shown in more silhouettes than just the loafer pump; which was the loafer style that was huge for fall 2011. For fall 2012, loafers are being shown in flat styles; stacked 1” to 2” heels and also on a pump last. The heels are being shown in every width imaginable from stiletto to two or even three inches thick.

Loafers for fall 2012 are also being shown in color blocking with neutral hues as opposed to bright and vivid colors which were shown last season and last year. The neutral hues include ivory, beige, shades of brown, burgundy, oxblood, black and charcoal.

The loafer style is an easy shoe trend to wear. Loafers and loafer pumps look fabulous with any style of pants ranging from casual jeans on through to corporate gabardine trousers. Loafer pumps can easily be paired with pants, trousers, jeans, dresses and skirts making them perfect for day into not-too-dressy evening.

The fabrications being found on loafers and loafer pumps for fall 2012 include suede, smooth leather, faux leather and crackled leather. While the majority of the soles are platform, there are a few flat soled styles on store shelves and a handful of designers have created understated lug soles for their loafer styles.

Jelly shoes were hot in the late 1970’s and children everywhere could be spotted wearing their favorite colored jelly shoes to school, the park and the beach. Well, for summer 2012 jelly shoes are back and they are hotter than ever. For summer 2012, jelly shoes are making a bang with grown up styles, sophisticated runway embellishments and are meant for anything except playing on the monkey bars.

Jelly shoes for summer 2012 are being shown mainly in flats and sandal styles. Of course, there is the occasional jelly wedge and jelly high heel sandal which can be found on store shelves, but the main trend this season is a flat, more casual jelly shoe.

When one thinks of a jelly shoe, one pictures a casual style which can easily be worn as an alternative to flip flops at the beach or a picnic. Espadrille wedges for the summer beach season

Summer 2012 is here and the beach season has arrived. One of the biggest challenges a Fashionista faces when going to the beach is walking on the sand. If the beach day is planned with beach games, swimming, surfing and play, then shoes are not a huge issue. If the beach day is more of a party event such as a wedding or dinner on the sand, shoes become a huge issue.

Walking on the sand can be a huge challenge; especially if you are dressed up for an event. Sand tends to go inside the shoes and walking seems more difficult than training on the Stairmaster at a high speed. Thankfully the espadrille shoe was invented in the fourteenth century and was originally used for walking on dirt and sand. The natural nature of the espadrille makes it the perfect shoe for walking on sand; therefore the ultimate beach shoe.

Of course, if you are attending an event on the beach, you may want more than just a flat espadrille. Wedges are hot for summer 2012 and so is the espadrille wedge. This trend is a fabulous one since there are enormous amounts of espadrille wedges on the market for the summer 2012 season.
