Kal Rieman fall 2014 sneak peek!

Kal Rieman is an amazing emerging designer from New York. Her pieces are classic and easily integrate into any wardrobe over time. I love this about her collection. Instead of trendy pieces which are only good for one or two seasons, Kal Rieman’s designs are timeless and the perfect foundation to build a wardrobe upon. Below are few of my favorite pieces from her fall/winter 2014/2015 collection. I have my eye these for fall!

D’Orsay flats for spring 2014

Shoes / Jeans

One of the big shoe trends for the spring 2014 season is the d’orsay flat. As the height of heels comes down to Earth for the spring 2014, and casual styles such as slip-on sneakers and one inch stacked heels come into fashion, the flat takes on a middle-of-the-road style in the d’orsay.

D’Orsay flats are neither casual nor dressy; they are right in-between. This makes the d’orsay flat an easy style to invest in for the spring 2014 season. After all, the d’orsay flat can be worn with jeans to dress them down, or trousers for the office, or with a skirt to dress them up! Love that!

D’Orsay flats appeared on the spring 2014 runways in New York, Paris, Milan and London; but they did not dominate, nor did they make a huge impact. The d’orsay flat was noticed, and picked up by, store buyers who recognized they would be a fresh and versatile style for the spring 2014 season. Runway trend + street style trend = perfection!

The d’orsay flat is a good shoe investment for the spring 2014. As the key replacement for the ballet flat in spring 2014, the d’orsay flat is staying put on the fashion map as we move through the year into fall and winter. Therefore, the d’orsay flat in neutral colors and black, is the perfect investment not just for spring, but for all of 2014. If you are more interested in a seasonal shoe, the d’orsay flat in a pretty pastel or bright pink will be the perfect touch for the season.

My pair of d’orsay flats are pictured above; and let me just say they are incredibly comfortable! There are so many beautiful d’orsay flats on the market for the spring 2014 season. I picked out a few fabulous pairs from around the web and assembled them into the shopping widget below. I hope you love my picks! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Although we have been enjoying several, back-to-back rain storms over the past two weeks, the temperatures have been in the high 60’s to low 70’s, which means, it is time to wear spring attire! Yes!!! Due to the dreary looking weather, I decided to perk myself up with this fuchsia shirt from Banana Republic’s spring collection. The color is cheerful and perfect for spring! Since crisp shirts are masculine, I felt it was necessary to add a glamorous and feminine touch to the outfit. My Joey J Jewelry earrings were the perfect yin to the shirt’s yang!

I love my Joey J Jewelry earrings. They are so versatile and can easily be worn casually, as in the pictures above, or paired with a cocktail dress for an evening event. To learn more about Joey J Jewelry, please visit JoeyJJewelry.com.
