Metallic handbags have been a classic mainstay in the world of handbags over the past several years. Despite their place as a modern classic, metallic handbags have exploded for fall 2014; and are proving to be one of the most important handbag trends of the seasons.
Spotted on the runways in New York, Paris, Milan and London, metallic handbags are taking the streets by storm. Every metallic hue has been seen including silver, pewter, gold and metallic versions of every color on the rainbow. Metallic hues are being spotted on mini, small, medium and large handbags; although medium is usually the largest handbag one would want to be metallic; for good taste purposes đ
The metallic handbag is a fresh way to wear a neutral purse this fall season. Metallic hues blend well with almost any color palette and can be worn from day to day. Smaller metallic bags can easily transition into evening and can instantly dress up a pair of jeans.
There is also a trend towards simple, understated handbags. While metallic bags are not understated due to their shiny and eye-catching appearance, the style of the handbag this fall season is in theme with the trend towards simplicity. When shopping for a metallic handbag, look for clean lines, not a lot of hardware and simplicity.
I found a few metallic handbags around the web which fit perfectly into fall 2014’s metallic handbag trend and assembled them into the shopping widget below. For vegan styles, please visit JillMilan.com.
The Menlo Charity Horse Show was held at Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, California August 4-9, 2014. This beautiful charity event raised much-needed funds for the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The annual event attracted a large number of sponsors, both corporate and individual, who helped make the event a huge success. One of those corporate sponsors is Bay Area based equestrian clothier Ariat.
Famous for their riding boots and technologically advanced clothing, Ariat generously supported the Menlo Charity Horse Show. Ariat is an equestrian clothing brand worn by both Western and English equestrian athletes They design and make boots and clothing equestrian athletes need to be successful in competition as well as during practice. In fact, Arat’s clothing and boots are so popular, many athletes and non-athletes enjoy wearing Ariat’s technologically advanced riding pants, vest, jackets and riding boots for non-horse riding activities too!Â
Ariat was kind enough to invite me to the Menlo Charity Horse Show as their guest this year. It was a beautiful show where I was able to view both the traditional English competition and the jumpers. The Menlo Charity Horse Show included a delicious buffet lunch and vendor row which included an Ariat shopping booth. It was amazing to be able to see Ariat’s collection up close. The boots are exquisite and I can see why so many people enjoy wearing them off the equestrian field too! Not only are they beautiful to look at, Ariat’s boots are made from the highest quality materials and have an insole which makes you feel like you are walking on a cloud. No sore feet for hard-core athletes! Or anyone who chooses to wear the boots for that matter!
In addition to Ariat’s famous boot collection, their vendor booth was filled with apparel which is ideal for both riding and leisurely day-to-day life. The fabric Ariat uses for their apparel collection is extremely technologically advanced and many pieces include SPF protection, wicking capabilities, and are designed for extreme movement and comfort. Ariat’s cool weather pieces are thin enough to be able to ride in yet warm enough to keep an athlete warm on a cold day.Â
The Menlo Charity Horse Show was a beautiful event which allowed world-class athletes to compete and win prizes yet contribute to helping raise money for the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.Â

Duffield Lane has the most comfortable clothing I have ever experienced. The cotton is soft and cozy, which makes it a breeze to get through the day! I love how Duffield Lane makes clothing you can do almost anything in; sleep, lounge, shop and more!
I wore my Duffield Lane top while lounging in the fresh morning air on a recent trip to Lake Tahoe; and then again for lunch with my family. As a busy Mother of three, I appreciate clothing that can go anywhere and do anything; and is easy to throw in the machine to wash!
