The daytime clutch for spring and summer 2012

The daytime clutch became hot in spring of 2011 when it graced the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris. As the year progressed, the trends hit the streets and by fall of 2011 Fashion-savvy women were spotted everywhere carrying medium-sized clutches in daytime fabrications. For the spring 2012 runway shows, the daytime clutch was dominant alongside the double handle satchel and showed the fashion world the trend would still be hot for 2012.

As spring 2012 arrives in stores, the daytime clutch is dominating the handbag department. Daytime clutches are being spotted in medium and small sizes in every fabrication imaginable. While the bulk of the handbags are made from leathers, there are also exotic skins, vegan faux leathers, cork and straw clutches for spring. The biggest trend among all fabrications is that are made in bright and bold colors, as well as being color blocked.

The easiest way to update one’s wardrobe this season is with a bright and bold daytime clutch. While a daytime clutch cannot hold everything and the kitchen sink, daytime versions of this formally evening-only style can easily carry a small wallet, smartphone, keys and lipstick. Look for bright colors such as orange, pink, yellow and cobalt blue. Some designers have even introduced neon shades of green, yellow, orange, pink and blue for the spring season; now that’s bright! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

Bold earrings for spring 2012

One of the hottest trends for spring 2012 is the bold jewelry trend. With this trend comes bold, shoulder dusting earrings which cannot help but be noticed. There are so many options and very few rules when it comes to large, bold earrings for the spring 2012 season. Every style of earring imaginable is hot, making this the perfect season to shop your jewelry box and also add to it!

Huge earrings were du rigueur in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Since then, earrings have gone through cycles of being small, medium or targeting a specific style. There was the hoop or circle trend in the early 2000’s and the chandelier trend earlier in the century.

This time around, hoops, circles, chandeliers and more can be rescued from the back of our jewelry boxes and given new life. In addition to wearing earrings from seasons past, which can be passed off as vintage if they are ten or more years old, there are dozens of new dangle earring styles on store shelves for the spring season.

Designers and brands have created amazing dangle earring styles for the spring season. There are linear and bold styles which offer movement and mixes of texture as well as sturdy and large metal earrings which cannot be missed.

Another trend in earrings is the chain trend. Edgy chain earrings are being found everywhere and offering a slightly rock and roll vibe to feminine earring styles. Also look for colorful gemstones mixed together; a great way to incorporate the color blocking trend and bright color trend into your wardrobe.

Below we found several bold earrings for the spring season around the web. Of course, every store you walk into this season will offer huge earrings which are on-trend and perfect for the spring season. Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Fashion is back in black for the fall 2012 season

Just as the fashion world became excited about bright colors, pastels and neon hues, Vera Wang sent a black wedding dress down her fall 2012 bridal runway. To top the matter off, Milan Fashion Week for fall/winter 2012/2013 menswear, which ended on January 18, 2012, was a sea of black. Not only has black dominated the menswear runways for fall 2012, a few designers such as Emporio Armani, sent their womenswear collection down the menswear runways as well, and they were just as black.

Black has been a mainstay in the wardrobes of Fashionistas for decades; the hue never really went of style, it was just overshadowed by the bright colors of recent seasons. What used to be deemed an anti-establishment hue, black became cool in the 1990’s when minimalism ruled the runways and the streets.

The fall/winter 2012/2013 menswear runways may as well have had the same AC/DC tune blaring on the stereo’s, because 99% of the designers showed up with their collections “Back In Black” and the beautiful bright colors of spring 2012 were nowhere to be found. It should be interesting to see what fall 2012 brings for women when New York Fashion Week kicks off on February 9, 2012. Will we be in a sea of dark and dismal black? Or will autumn hues of orange, green, burgundy, chocolate brown and deep navy grace the runways as seen in many pre-fall collections? We shall see. . .
