Cherry lips and purple lips: fall 2012 lipstick trends

The hottest beauty trend for the fall 2012 season is the cherry lip or the purple lip. Shades of red and purple lipstick have been at the forefront of beauty over the past few seasons, but for fall 2012, the slightly pink version of red known as cherry, and also shades of purple, are the ultimate in lip-color.

While nails for fall are in shades of nude, brown, purple and red, lips are standing out in sweet cherry and shades of purple. The lips have become the focal point for the fall 2012 season as light shades of purple, neutral hues, charcoal and even black are dressing the eyes and shades of cherry and pink adorn the cheeks. But all this dazzle around the eyes pales in comparison to the cherry lip and the purple lip for fall 2012.

Of course, not everyone looks fabulous in a cherry lip or dark purple lip, and many of us are too shy to wear a lip color which is bold and sexy. Thankfully the secondary lip colors for the fall 2012 are medium purples as well as deep, mature pinks and not-too-bright shades of fuchsia.

Our favorite shades of cherry for fall are Laura Mercier’s “Angelic,” “Haute Red” and “Red Amour” and Dolce & Gabbaba’s Classic Cream Lipstick in “Scarlet” and “Chromed.”

Of course we cannot forget shades of purple! Our favorite lipstick hues in purple, fuchsia and deep pink include Chanel Rouge Coco Culte which is limited edition and Dolce & Gabbana’s Passion Duo “Exotic.”

If cherry, purple, fuchsia and deep pink are not your thing, a pale or nude lip is still relevant and can look very en vogue with deep chocolate brown nail polish and a darker eye. So never fear, beauty is still a personal thing!

We found a few fabulous lipstick hues and assembled them into the Polyvore set below. Are you a cherry lip, a purple lip, or both this fall? Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Black and white for fall 2012

Black and white is a classic combination which was hot for the spring/summer 2012 season. This timeless color combination was also spotted all over the fall 2012 runways and is proving to be a hot trend for the upcoming fall 2012 season.

Black and white has been spotted in fall collections by designers and brands such as Christian Louboutin, BCBG MaxAzria, Manolo Blahnik, Guiseppe Zanotti, Brahmin and more. This classic color combination is easy to pull together and black, white or black/white items can easily be found in your closet from past seasons. Since fall tends to be a moderate to warm season, white items from the summer season can easily be combined with heavier black items such as smoking slippers, motorcycle jackets and satchels to create the perfect fall season look.

It is no surprise that black and white can be found in every type of garment and accessory imaginable. The classic color combination is also easy to find in fall 2012’s prints which include animal and digital designs. Black and white can also be worn in a color blocked fashion; another carry-over trend from the spring and summer seasons.

The black and white trend for the fall 2012 season is a great time to shop your closet for black and white items from past seasons. This is also an easy trend to spice up with the continuing metallic trend. Silver accessories are a great way to add a little sizzle to a black and white ensemble this fall season! Love this!

We found a few fabulous black and white items around the web and assembled them together with this article. Hope you love them! Happy shopping and stay fabulous
