The Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey circus is currently in town! My husband and I took our three kids to see “The Greatest Show on Earth” at SAP Center on Friday, August 26. The theme of the show was “Out of this World.”
We were thrilled to see a space theme! My son, who is in third grade, wants to be an astronaut when he grows up, so to see a space theme circus, as his first-ever circus, was a dream come true for him!
The 3D light show made the circus ring come alive. The lights and theatrics really made the space theme feel real. It was so amazing! My ten year old daughter loved all of the animals and seeing them do tricks. She thought the dogs were so cute, and she was mesmerized by the horse vaulting!
My oldest daughter loved the acrobats, which were my favorite too. I was amazed by the way they could twist and manipulate their bodies. How in world do they do it!? My husband loved the animals and the acrobats. We also loved the ice skating tricks! My favorite skit was the basketball game on unicycles. It was hilarious and my husband’s absolute favorite. We were all amazed!
We also loved how the clowns came around the audience before the show started, and chatted with people, took photos, and made us laugh. They were so personable, nice, and hilarious!
Of course I have to give a shout out to the amazing costumes! The fabrics, quality of craftsmanship, texture, colors, and design were outstanding. In the photos above, there is a female animal trainer, that was my favorite costume of the night! My iPhone photo doesn’t do it justice. The purple was vibrant and the texture was incredible. All of the costumes were beautiful; it was unreal!
If you have never been to the circus before, you must go! It is fun for all ages, so even if you don’t have kids, you should go! I saw pairs, and groups in their 20’s enjoying the show just as much as the families.
