Michael Costello sent his spring 2017 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Skylight Moynihan in New York. The collection was dreamy, magical, and took us to a place where dreams are made. Yes, it was truly amazing!

I feel in love with the vibrant purples, sparkling fabrics, and extravagant ruffles. It was beautiful!

The pictures I took from my seat did not come out very well, so thankfully I have PR photos I can share with you, as well as all the fabulous beauty tips from backstage! I’m excited to share with you how to repeat the Michael Costello beauty look straight from the runway, at home! Love that!

The beauty look on Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway at New York Fashion Week stressed each model’s natural beauty. The makeup artists created high intensity beauty looks which were layered, yet were done in the perfect colors to match each model’s individual skin tone. The result? A fabulous, natural yet intense, beauty look to covet for the upcoming spring season. Love!

Michael Costello’s spring/summer 2017 New York Fashion Week runway collection was “Midnight at the Botanical Bash.” The look was inspired by a dark garden soiree, with makeup focusing on a dark berry lip, bold, bronzed glossy eyes and natural skin.

“This season we really thought about how the natural beauty of a flower resembles that of a woman: Delicate, radiant, unique,” said designer Michael Costello. “The makeup speaks to our idea of how dark and moody is often glamorous, elegant and intriguing.”

How to get the Michael Costello spring 2017 runway beauty look at home:

Edward Cruz, lead makeup artist for INGLOT, created non-traditional, blended-out gold and berry eyes. He used Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte #296 and #299 from INGLOT’s new What A Spice! Collection ($7 each) as the base, and layered on deep gold #81 and berry sparkle #24 using AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadow ($16 each).

Cruz layered matte, cranberry Lipstick Matte #438 ($15) with AMC Lip Paint #58 ($14) to create an opaque, berry ombre lip.

How to get the metallic ombre nail look from Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway:

The nails on Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway were done by Essie. They started with Essie First Base Base Coat, then applied Good as Gold, then, using a latex makeup wedge, Good as Gold, and Sole Mate were blended together in the second coat horizontally, and lightly. Working quickly, tap the wedge lightly on the nail creating an ombre look. Then top it off with Good To Go Top Coat.

With dark lips, purples, and ombre nails a hot trend now and into spring, these are great looks to recreate to wear this season, as well as into next year! I love how we can all wear a little spring 2017 before fall 2016 is in full swing. Love it! The products used for both the beauty looks, and the runway nails, can be found in the widget below. I can’t wait to try this at home! Let me know if you try it!

Marissa Webb sent her spring/summer 2017 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Skylight Clarkson in New York. The collection stayed true to Marissa Webb’s well-loved aesthetic, while staying ahead of the trends with fresh, new takes on everything we need in our closets. Love that!

There were beautiful handbags on Marissa Webb’s spring 2017 runway which featured fringe, golden chains, and vintage binocular case silhouettes. The bags were shown mainly in black and pink. Love! I am definitely eyeing the black, vintage-inspired bag!

Spring 2017 is featuring pinks, military green, and a lot of black/white combos. Marissa Webb has given us her take on the current trends for spring, and they are fabulous!

Supima held their spring 2017 design challenge at New York Fashion Week on September 8, 2016 at the Skylight Clarkson in New York. Supima’s contest featured six emerging designers from around the United States who created their designs from raw, Supima cotton materials. It was incredible!

The emerging designers were Duston Jasso, Jiyeon Lee, Kara Michelle Kroeger, Jacob Blau, Jaqueline Zeyi Chen, and Jeffrey Taylor. The celebrity judges included Kyle Anderson, Moti Ankari, Ann Caruso, Malina Gilchrist, Avril Graham, Carmen Lilly, Julia Loomis, Federica Marchionni, Alicia Quarles, Cameron Silver, Mary Alice Stephenson, Lilliana Vasquez, and Katherine Zarella. The designer mentor was none other than the fabulous Bibhu Mohapatra. Love him!

I loved everything on the runway. It was amazing how the designers took raw Supima materials, and transformed them into stunning evening attire. The prints, texture, and silhouettes were beyond amazing. My favorite designs were from Jeffrey Taylor, and Jacob Blau. Jeffrey Taylor’s dresses were wearable, timeless, and simply perfect. Jacob Blau pushed the envelope and showed edgy designs which questioned what one wears for evening events. I am obsessed with his plaid coat featured in the photos above. Love!

Jeffrey Taylor from the Savannah College of Art and Design won the competition. Every single one of his pieces were perfect. I hope we can see his designs in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue someday! I would buy them in a heartbeat!
