A.L.C. has a pop-up shop in San Francisco! This happens to be one of my favorite brands when shopping for fashion week outfits. So, when I found out there was a pop-up shop in the city, I had to go!
A.L.C. always has fashionable clothing which reflect current trends in an understated way. Thier clothing is high quality, and fits really well. I can pull my size off the rack and know it will fit every time. I have never needed alterations, A.L.C. just fits!
The pop-up shop in San Francisco is really exciting because they are offering pieces from recent collections in 2018 and 2019 at 75% off retail prices. Wh-aaaaaat??? Yes, you read that correctly. This means the floral silk blouse I picked up, which retails at $345, was $86.25 at the pop-up shop. I also snapped up an on-trend stripe dress with fabulous puff sleeves which normally retails at $195 and is $48.75 at the pop-up shop. Those are amazing deals!
This is the beautiful silk floral blouse I picked up at the A.L.C pop-up shop in San Francisco. It looks great with jeans, or for a dressier look, a black skirt or black pants.
This is the stripe dress I picked up at the pop-up shop. It’s a fabulous summer dress which can still be worn in the fall season. It will look cute in the spring/summer with sandals or espadrilles; while in the fall, I like how it looks with loafer slides.
Although the collections for sale are from 2018 and 2019, they are still reflecting current trends for 2020 and into next year. A.L.C. creates fashionable clothing with longevity, so you don’t have to worry about investing in a piece which reflects a fleeting trend, the clothing is fashion-forward; meaning it will last for several years.
Shopping at the A.L.C. pop-up shop in San Francisco is safe and easy. It feels really luxurious when you’re inside since they limit the number of customers shopping at a time. This means you have the store almost to yourself! It’s like a private shopping experience. They also require masks and offer hand sanitizer to keep us all safe. Love it!
You can visit the A.L.C. pop-up shop in San Francisco at 2011 Fillmore Street. For more information, please see details online here.

Fall 2020 is around the corner, so now is the time to assemble a fall capsule wardrobe! This autumn season isn’t like other fall seasons. A large portion of our economy is closed, which means there are less events and occasions for leaving the house. That being said, I think I can safely say we are all at a point where we want to feel normal; and part of feeling normal is getting dressed in something other than sweatpants.
Nothing feels better right now than putting on an actual outfit. Whether I am going to the post office, the supermarket, or picking up take-out, wearing an outfit makes me feel good; even if I am only wearing it with shoes and a bag for an hour. So for the fall 2020 season, I put together a fall capsule wardrobe which pulls items from my closet such as classic fit jeans and v-neck tees; and combines them with casual yet on trend pieces such as torn skinny jeans, puff sleeve tops, and a pouch clutch. (stay tuned for my handbag capsule wardrobe on the blog in a few days)

These tops and earrings will work perfectly for video conference meetings, while the jeans or joggers will keep things comfy on the bottom. I mean, aren’t we all mullet dressing for video meeting right now? I know you aren’t in a pencil skirt and pumps!
The casual fall trends this season include 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s influences which you will see in sleeve types, denim washes, and MTV 90’s hip-hop silhouettes. If you wore it then, you can wear it again! I’m loving the puff sleeves, and retro denim styles. They spice up a casual look for the autumn season. Love that!
There are days when we just need a casual look, without trying to rock too many trends. On those days, I plan on wearing jeans, a simple v-neck tee, and this cozy cardigan sweater. This is a great casual capsule wardrobe for the fall season since many of us will be doing mostly casual activities such as errands.

This is also a casual, go-to look that will get a lot of use on a daily basis. Jeans and a tee are the ultimate basic outfit, this cardigan keeps it comfy and cozy, while trendy jeans spice it up just a bit.
While putting on an outfit feels normal, and is a necessity when leaving the house, there are some days we just want to lounge around and clear our heads. After all, the world is a lot right now! This comfy, cozy loungewear capsule is ideal for a cozy day at home. I love this casual cardigan sweater which can be thrown over jeans and a tee, or loungewear. It’s so versatile!

I am also living in these fuzzy slip-on slippers. They are great with, or without socks; depending on the weather.
OK, there are a few things open! Where I live I can wear something dressy to dine outside at a restaurant. Depending on where you live, you may have more dressy outfit opportunities than I do in California! This fall, it is good to have one skirt or dress for going out. I cannot even begin to tell you how nice it feels to put on pumps once in awhile these days! This outfit is super affordable, the skirt and top together are under $110, and the pumps are under $140. Each jewelry piece is under $100 too. Love that!

This fall capsule wardrobe combines new and old pieces which create a multitude of outfits. That’s what makes a capsule wardrobe so good, everything mixes and matches; and also carries over from season to season. There’s no point in buying one season pieces; it is always good to invest in items which can be worn for several seasons. It’s a great way to save money, lower our carbon footprint, and look chic. Love!
Stay tuned for my shoe and handbag capsule coming up over the next week!
Memorial Day weekend always marks the beginning of summer for me; even if there are still a couple weeks left to the school year, and summer doesn’t officially start until well into June.
We enjoyed temperatures over Memorial Day weekend which hovered well above ninety degrees; so I am going to venture off and say it’s time to bring out the summer 2020 capsule wardrobe, and wear it now!
Summer 2020 is a little bit different than past summer seasons. My camping trip, European vacation, and road trip vacation, have all been cancelled. While a few things have opened up in Santa Clara County, we remain more locked down than other areas of the country. This means I don’t need a lot of clothing this summer for a variety of activities. I have put together two basic capsule wardrobes for the 2020 summer season. They should provide all the outfits I will need this summer season.

The casual summer 2020 capsule wardrobe featured above allows for several outfits with cut-off shorts or linen pants. The black and blue tees are actually meant for working out; but they are cut like regular tee’s, and fit like regular tee’s. This is important this year since outdoor dining will be the way we out this summer. What happens when we eat outside? Well. . .let’s just say the wicking fabric on the fitness tees will come in handy while dining al fresco on hot summer days. I think you catch my drift.
These shorts will look great with sneakers, espadrille slides, and flip flops. The linen joggers look fabulous with espadrille wedges, espadrille slides, and flip flops. You will see my favorite footwear for the summer in my shoe capsule wardrobe tomorrow 😉
OK, you might recognize this skirt from my spring capsule wardrobe. Good eyes! Since there will be fewer activities this summer, I decided to re-work this skirt for the summer season. It is easy to transition it from spring to summer by ditching the cardigan sweater or long sleeve sweater, and pairing it with a tee or short sleeve top. It can be worn dressy with the puff sleeve top and slingback heels, or casual with a v-neck tee and flip flops. This is a really versatile skirt; I recommend having one floral or patterned skirt in your summer capsule!

Aside from casual activities, this summer will consist of swimming, hiking, and tennis! Stay tuned for my upcoming shoe, handbag, and outdoor fitness capsule wardrobes!
