Essie Party on a Platform review

essie party on a platform winter 2017

Essie Party on a Platform nail polish is a beautiful red color with slightly pink undertones. This classic red hue is part of Essie’s winter collection which is filled with on trend, and classic winter colors. Love it!

As with other Essie nail polishes, Party on a Platform is long lasting, and chip resistant. I was able to wear Essie Party on a Platform for a full week without getting any chips. The polish stayed chip free without the use of a top coat, I only used one base coat and two coats of color. I changed my nail color since my nails were starting to grow, and show. I love long lasting polish!

This is a fabulous color to wear now, and throughout the winter and holiday seasons. It will look amazing at holiday parties, on Christmas day, or New Years Eve with a sparkling top coat such as Essie Luxeffects. This would turn Party on a Platform into a festive, holiday mani!

Essie Satin Sister nail polish review for winter

essie satin sister nail polish review winter 2017

Essie Satin Sister nail polish is a fabulous dark teal nail color which is perfect for transitioning from fall into winter. This is the color to wear now!

Nail polish trends from the fall season included metallics, reds, pinks, and black. As we move towards winter, and the holiday season, the color palette is not changing too much. We are still seeing metallics, black, and shades of red for the holidays, with the addition of pink hues for the winter season. This makes Essie’s winter collection perfect to wear now, and throughout the winter and/or holiday season. Love!

winter nail trends

The Essie winter collection includes “Satin Sister” which is a green/blue, or dark teal hue that offers a classic fall/winter look. This is the perfect color from the collection to wear as we transition from the fall season, into the winter and holiday seasons. In addition to “Satin Sister,” the Essie winter nail polish collection includes a beautiful classic red hue named “Party on a Platform.”

This classic red is right on trend with the winter season, and it is a perfect color to wear during the holidays too. “Party on a Platform” is ideal to wear alone during the winter season, or topped with a sparkling topcoat such as “Set in Stones” from Essie’s Luxeffects collection for holiday parties.

Essie’s winter collection also includes a beautiful and sparkling gold hue named “Getting Groovy,” which is on trend, and festive for the season. “Oh Behave” is a fabulous pink color which is on trend and perfect to wear towards the end of winter when you want to start thinking about spring. Pink, incidentally, was all over the spring runways, this is a great nail polish color to invest in now, and to wear throughout the cold weather season.

“Ready to Boa” is a fabulous, sparkling burgundy which is also on trend for winter and festive for the holidays. Last, but not least, “Go with the Flowy” is a sparkling white nail polish hue perfect for snow days, New Years, and as a way to lighten up dark winter days. Love these colors!

So far, I have tested one color from the collection, Satin Sister. Essie Satin Sister is such a cool color. During the day, in natural light, it looks like a blueish-teal. At night, under artificial light, Satin Sister appears to be more on the green side. It’s so much fun!

I am looking forward to wearing Satin Sister by Essie often during the winter season, as well as the other hues from the winter collection! Which color from Essie’s winter collection is your favorite?

Stay tuned! I will be reviewing each and every color from Essie’s winter collection this season!

Monique Lhuillier sent her spring/summer 2017 collection down the New York Fashion Week on September 12, 2016. The collection was ethereal, dreamy, and romantic. Ah! Monique Lhuillier is always perfection!

As one of my favorite shows to attend every season, I eagerly await Monique Lhuillier’s runway show. Her designs are unique, beautiful, flattering, and make dreams come true. The details on her clothing, combined with the extremely high quality materials, and construction, creates a collection like no other. No-one compares to Monique Lhuillier.

To make Monique Lhuillier’s show even more magical, Essie shared with me the secrets to achieving her runway nails right at home! Love that! The nail polish colors on Monique Lhuillier’s spring 2017 New York Fashion Week runway were romantic, dark, mysterious, and vampy. This has been a nail polish trend throughout the spring 2017 runways in New York. I love the unexpected, dark colors for a traditionally pastel season!

Without further adieu, here are the tips for recreating Monique Lhuillier’s spring 2017 runway nails at home:

Finger Nails:

Base Coat: first base base coat

Two coats of color: Wicked

Top coat: good to go top coat

Toe Nails:

Base coat: ridge filling base coat

Two coats of color: adore-a-ball

Top coat: good to go top coat

Voila! How simple is that? Easiest runway nails ever! I’m so excited to try these nail combos myself in order to achieve a spring 2017 look on my nails; even it is too cold outside to wear all the new spring trends!
