The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 is here, and these are my blogger picks from the sale! If you are wondering what this sale is all about, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a short period of time when Nordstrom discounts fall 2017 merchandise. When the sale ends, all of the fall merchandise goes back to full price. This makes the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale an important time to shop for fall basics, back to school necessities, workout wear, underwear, and general closet staples. I love this sale!

This year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale runs from July 13, 2017 through August 6, 2017. The first week of the sale, July 13, 2017 through July 20, 2017 is reserved for Nordstrom cardholders only. If you have a card, great! If not, you can either apply online for a Nordstrom account, or start shopping the sale on July 21, 2017; or, you can be like me and buddy up with a friend or relative who will let you use their card for early access. My buddy is my Mom, without her, I would have to wait until July 21.

There is a A LOT of merchandise featured in the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, therefore, it can be a little bit overwhelming. My advice is to focus on stocking up on basics such as jeans, simple sweaters, tee shirts, basic shoes, and classic handbags. These are the items which will be the base of your fall 2017 wardrobe, and will allow you to easily add trendy items as the season wears on. Love that!

Oh Concept striped tee for summer

How cute is this cold shoulder, striped tee by Oh Concept! I am in love with it! This lightweight tee is made from the softest cotton, and looks so cute with shorts, jeans, and midi skirts. I find myself reaching for it often. Oh Concept makes the best casual-wear; they have great styles which can be worn daily. Love that!

This outfit was super comfortable the other day when I wore it to meet up with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should Be Fun. We met up at Santana Row for a yummy lunch at Straits, and chatted the day away! This outfit was perfect for a day on the Row.

This fall, we are seeing A LOT less distressed denim, and more clean denim. As we move towards the end of summer shopping, and start to organize for fall, it is important to only buy things which will easily transition from summer into fall. These jeans do the trick!

Another fall trend to watch is the continuation of ties, cold shoulders, and asymmetrical lines. I love this Oh Concept tee because it hits all the bullet points for both the current summer trends, and the incoming fall trends. This will be a fabulous tee to wear for the rest of summer, as well as for transitioning into the fall season. The weather here in the Bay Area does not cool down until very late October, so an on trend tee to wear with jeans is an easy, and perfect, way to move into fall without wearing something too heavy for the weather. Love!

Beach season is here! Don’t let the morning fog in these photos fool you; it turned out to be a beautiful day at Capitola Beach! Over the weekend, we took the kids to the beach. We stopped at Zelda’s first for brunch; they have the best hot chocolate! Then, the kids built a little sand town on the beach while I dove into a new book. My friend Laura from Have-Need-Want lives close-by, so she walked over to the beach to say hi! My teen daughter loved meeting her baby. So fun!

This affordable swimsuit cover up, which doubles as a dress, was perfect for the day. It was easy to wear to brunch, for a stroll through town, and on the beach! If you are looking for a fabulous bikini, my black and white striped bikini is so comfortable, and I love the side ties! The cut is flattering; I am in love!

I love the look of wooden watches; especially in the summer! My favorite wood watch is on sale today for Amazon Prime Day. It is 30% off which is a great deal! I love how it plays so well with my handbag. Natural materials are so perfect for the summer!
