The return of the mid-size heel

For the past several seasons, high heels have been sky high; and we mean SKY HIGH! The 5” inch heel, which under normal fashion circumstances is considered crazy, has been deemed on the conservative side over the past few seasons. As insane as this sounds, many Fashionistas have been clicking their heels in 6” heels and higher! Ouch!

For the spring 2013 season, flat soled shoes, also referred to as “single sole” shoes, have come back into fashion like wildfire. This means, a return to a heel height which is more comfortable for most women. Although 4” and 5” inch heels are still tinkering around on flat soled shoes, the 1” heel and 2” heel have returned.

Kitten heels (which are traditionally about 1”) the 2” heel are back with a vengeance. Shoe designers such as Valentino and Manolo Blahnik have gone back to the short, mid-size heel height for the spring 2013 season and women’s feet everywhere are cheering. While high heels add height and flatter one’s leg, are ankle-breaking heels really necessary? Nope.

The mid-size heel is back; and on an upward tick. This is the heel height to watch for in the fall 2013 collections as well as into 2014 and 2015. Heels are slowly coming back to earth, and ankles everywhere are breathing a sign of relief. Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

Spring 2013 trends: bright colors

Although pastels are a hot, up and coming color trend for the spring 2013 season, the bright color trend from 2012 is showing no sign of slowing down. New York and Milan designers favored the playful color palettes for their spring/summer 2013 collections and store buyers have followed suit by stocking shelves and racks with bright colors and even neon hues.

The bright colors from 2013 have carried into spring 2013; this means Fashionistas everywhere can shop their closets for spring before heading out to the store. Save money, love this!

For spring 2013, the most popular bright hues include pink, green, cobalt blue, blue, yellow and splashes of orange. Although emerald green has been the color of the year, shoppers have also been flocking to bright, candy pink for spring 2013. Hmmm . . . looks like emerald may have a little competition this season! Thankfully green and pink look quite nice together, so there shouldn’t be too much competition

When shopping for colors this spring 2013 season, look for colors which are on the rise and will carry you into fall 2013. Emerald green and blue are two colors which have already been spotted in fall 2013 collections. These colors will make good investment purchases for the year. Pink, whether bright or pastel, is also an up-and-coming color which will make a good investment. Orange is starting to fade, so it is a good color to keep from last year, but try not to overbuy for 2013; it has not shown itself to be important in the fall 2013 collections yet.

Bright colors are easy to wear through accessories or apparel. If you are too shy to wear a bright dress or top, look for a bright pair of pointed toe pumps or a brightly colored daytime clutch. This is an easy way to add a fabulous pop of color to your wardrobe and these items can be worn with several different outfits. More bang for your buck! Fabulous!

We found a few bright items around the web and assembled them into this article. Hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

The 3” bangle from Twisted Silver: the ultimate staple

There are very few “must-haves” in a woman’s wardrobe. The main “must-have’s” for a basic wardrobe include the quintessential “little black dress,” a pair of black pumps, a trench coat and a pair of jeans which fit properly. Everything else is disposable year after year; and even those four items may not have the longevity one wishes for. Think about what is in your wardrobe that you have had forever? Is it an apparel item? A pair of shoes? A handbag? A piece of jewelry? Oh back up; it’s jewelry!

Jewelry is the longest lasting accessory and fashion item a woman can buy. It does not get attacked by moths, it does not shrink in the dryer, the dry cleaner cannot ruin it, rain cannot ruin it; there are very few things that can ruin jewelry. This means when it comes to investing in an accessory that will withstand the test of time, literary, jewelry is the way to go!

When it comes to casual, everyday jewelry, there are few staple pieces every Fashionista needs in a wardrobe. Think of these items as the “little black dresses” of the jewelry box. A pair of hoop earrings, bangles, a timeless watch and diamond (or faux diamond) studs. Bangles are classic, timeless and are easy to wear with everything! They can go to work, the park, dinner, the theatre and anywhere you want to be! Fabulous!

Twisted Silver has designed a fabulous set of three bangles named the “3” bangle” which is an amazing, edgy yet classic bangle stack. This fabulous set of bangles is perfect for wearing on its’ own or paired with other bracelets. The three bangles are attached by an edgy chain and offer two Twisted Silver charms which dangle from the chain. The “3” Bangles” bring new meaning to the word “classic.” Love this!

A woman can never have too many bangles. If you do not already have bangles in your jewelry wardrobe, the “3” bangles” are the perfect bangles to include in your collection. If you already have other silver bangles, Twisted Silver’s “3” Bangles” will make the perfect addition to your collection. Love them!
