It’s that time of year again when the weather toys with us and gives one day of summer, one day of winter, and one day in-between. When those peek-at-summer days happen, we all start looking at what we have ready in our closets for summer. One of the big, on-trend items we all need is a straw bag.

The straw bag for summer 2022 is a great summer staple because it evokes vacation vibes, offers neutral hues to match any outfit, and is specific to summer or exotic trips. Love a good basket bag!

As straw bags have increased in popularity the past few years, designers have been getting more creative, and they are giving us more options to choose from. For the summer 2022 season, we can find a basket bag in almost any style we want; and I love it! I own the Loewe tote bag featured in this post, and it is a classic style that Loewe releases every spring/summer. I love having a classic bag I can pull out every summer. If you want a classic straw bag, I highly recommend it!

Spring is here! This means we all need to make sure we have the hottest handbags front and center in our closets. Luckily, a lot of the spring 2022 handbag trends might already be in our closets, and we just need to move them forward. Love that!

There are five hot spring 2022 handbag trends to covet this warm weather season, and hopefully you already own a handbag in at least one category. So, without further ado, here are the five hottest handbag trends for the spring 2022 season.

  1. The Small Square Tote: Small, square totes are hotter than hot this season. They offer a square silhouette, small size, and often will be found with an alternate cross body strap to make day-to-day life easy. You can snap an investment version from Dior, or you can find a more affordable version from Coach. Either way, you will look fabulous.
  2. The Small Top Handle Bag: Thankfully you don’t have to go micro-mini or nano in this trend, unless you really want to. You can rock the small top handle bag trend, or Lady Bag trend, with a small bag which still fits your wallet and phone. These handbags also tend to come with a cross body strap, making them easy to wear everyday. Love!
  3. The Hobo Bag: This trend started last year, and it is continuing into 2022. You can rock it with a structured version, or a soft version. There are also moon shaped bags and shoulder bags which offer a hobo look. If you haven’t already found your hobo bag for 2022, there is one out there for you.
  4. The Bucket Bag: This trend was hot a few years ago, and it’s back! You can go with a traditional cinch bucket such as the classic one pictured above, or one fashioned after a flower pot silhouette, or cylinder. You will find a lot of versions of the bucket on store shelves. Pick the one that speaks to you. Or, you can be like me and stick with the classic that has been hot since 2014. Your choice.
  5. The Pouch: Lastly, let’s talk about the pouch. This handbag style has been popular for a few years now. I own a few in different sizes as well as one with a funky chain strap. This is a great style to wear casual or dressy. If you own a pouch, keep rocking it! If you have been eyeing this trend for awhile, snap one up now.

Coach is having a moment. They have always been a classic and iconic American handbag brand, but their spring 2022 handbag collection is out of this world. Coach has branched out, pushed the envelope, and hit a home run. I am loving it!

Last September, when Coach first showed their spring 2022 collection on the runway, I snapped up an early release of their small Cashin 22 tote. I absolutely adore this bag and enjoy wearing it often. There were several other bags on the runway I spotted, and I am still waiting for a few of those to appear on store shelves. For example, there is a brown version of the Cashin 22 tote I need in my life as well as a purple version. You cannot go wrong with a classic square tote which is small in stature yet large on the inside. Love that!

In addition to the small Cashin 22, Coach has a larger carryall for spring 2022 named the Cashin 32. I am in love with the green version as it will fit daily handbag essentials as well as a laptop. The green offers beautiful color saturation as well as that traditional Coach quality we have all come to love. It’s a clean looking bag and the green hue gives it a little bit of pizzaz. Love!

See that yellow shoulder bag in my collage? It also comes in a minty green. The leather is amazing, and it has two straps, much like my little swinger bag, which makes it quite versatile. I know I will buy one of them, but I am torn on color. It’s a fabulous bag in an edgy color, love that! There are more neutral versions of the bag, but they don’t offer that fun, alternate color cross body strap, only a matching cross body strap. Which is fine. . .but there is something about that fun pink strap. . .
