What’s in my beauty bag May 2018

May is here! This month we transition from spring into more of a summer weather pattern. As the temperatures begin to rise, we all need to adjust our beauty routine to stay balanced. While I am still using my favorite daytime Elemis face cream, Revive eye cream, and Revive neck cream, I am switching up my fragrance, lipstick, and evening skin care.

It’s time to make sure our legs are smooth and shaved! As the temperatures soar, I will be reaching for shorts, skirts, and dresses. This means I need smooth legs! I love EOS shave cream products, they are amazing! The sensitive formula contains cucumber, aloe, wild oats, and lavender butter. It’s great for sensitive skin!

If you have dry skin, which I end up with later in summer, this is what you need! This formula contains Shea Butter, coconut oil, and mango butter. Love that! It’s perfect for nourishing dry skin while allowing you a close shave. That is perfection.

Givenchy’s “Live Irresistible Blossom Crush” edt is a beautiful, light floral fragrance for warm weather. It offers notes of musk, pink peony, rose, and cocoa bean. It’s perfect for both spring and summer! I’m reaching for this scent now everyday.

I love to lighten up my lipstick in warm warmer. This beautiful plumping, moisturizing, and soft pink lipstick from Givenchy is my new obsession. It’s fabulous! It’s actually more of a lip balm which naturally reacts to your pH and creates a natural color which enhances your lips. Addicted!

So for my evening skin care routine, I am keeping things simple. I am still using the same neck cream from my daytime routine, but for my face cream I have started using Fresh rose deep hydration cream and toner. This is perfect for my skin since it tends to get dry in the warm weather from sun exposure. The cream brings intense 24-hour hydration for dry skin. The toner refines pores, and uses real rose petals! It’s the perfect summer floral! Love!

This is the season for camping! I’m troop leader for my daughter’s girl scout troop, plus we love to get outdoors as a family. This means I don’t always have access to a shower or bath. Yeah, don’t hate. 😉 This “Flash Bath” by Yuni is the best thing since sliced bread. No joke! It freshens you up as if you took a real shower! It’s perfect for camping, long air travel, or days when you might be running short on time and should have taken a shower; but didn’t. You need this. You seriously need this.

Well, there you have it! All my favorite new beauty products for the transition from spring into summer. I will be using these now, and well into the summer season. What are some of your favorite beauty products for spring into summer?

What’s new in my April beauty bag

Happy April! Now that spring is here, it is time to move into a spring color palette. I wear the same cocoa eye liner all year long, but I like to switch up my eye shadow and lipsticks as the seasons change. I love these new lip glosses from Urban Decay, and these new sheer lipsticks from L’Oreal Paris are perfect for the warmer weather. They are offered in fabulous colors, and moisturize my lips. Love that!

I love lipstick hues in shades of pink and purple. These pink and purple shades from Urban Decay and L’Oreal Paris are perfect for the spring! They are vivid enough to be seen, and light enough to blend with spring 2018’s color palette. Love!

When it comes to eye shadows, I tend to stick with neutrals. I love this eye shadow palette from Urban Decay. It has a wide range of neutral colors which can take me from day to night. The three light shades are my favorite; and are my go-to colors daily!

Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish review

Chanel bleu trompeur nail polish spring 2018

pictured: Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish / late spring 2018 nail polish release

Well, you know, I’m a sucker for anything blue! Chanel released four spring 2018 nail polish colors mid-season, and this new blue one caught my eye. It’s a light navy color, which fits perfectly into spring’s classic color palette.

Over the years, Chanel has released plenty of versions of navy blue nail polish. This isn’t a ground-breaking, or earth-shattering, color; but it is a really pretty navy blue. It isn’t a super dark navy, like Chanel typically releases in the fall season. Bleu Trompeur nail polish is a medium navy blue, which is lighter then other navy colors in Chanel’s nail polish line.

I tested out Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish for spring 2018 with one base coat, and two coats of color. I did not use a top coat. I have found that Chanel nail polish doesn’t really need a top coat anymore; since the release of their longwear collection a few years ago. Like with other Chanel colors, Bleu Trompeur is long lasting, and gave me a week before chipping. Love that!

If you are looking for a neutral yet non-conservative nail color this spring 2018 season, then Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish is for you! Navy is an easy color to wear with all color groups from the spring palette. Since Blue Trompeur isn’t a classic pink or red hue-yet it still acts like a neutral color while it gives off a playful, avant-garde vibe; which is a great way to to be neutral, without wearing a neutral. Love it!

You can find Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish for spring 2018 online here.

What do you think of this color for spring? Will you be rocking it? Or do you prefer more of a classic hue such as pink or red?
