As 2024 comes to an end, a new era in how we spend our money, and how we portray ourselves to the outside world, begins. 2025 is all about conscious spending, understated elegance, and keeping them guessing. So, without further ado, here is what to shelve in the new year, and what to rock on the streets.

Goodbye 2024

Peach Fuzz: This pale version of orange didn’t really catch on, but will make a soft accent to Mocha Mousse, so if you have it in your closet, mix it with mocha. Otherwise, store your peachy hues for when pastels make a comeback.

Structured looks: Structured is out, soft and slouchy is in. Store your over-starched apparel and handbags, it’s all about soft, luxurious comfort in the new year.

Bright colors: Being the brightest in the room is out. Get understated and shelve the bright hues.

Obvious style or brand: It isn’t enough to just shun logos anymore, the style you wear, or carry, should not be recognizable by designer or brand. Make them ask what you are wearing or carrying.

Spending thousands of dollars on designer goods: Now that some designers have been exposed for manufacturing a handbag for $25 and charging $4000, we know better than to spend our money on overpriced fashion. Look for no-name brands, understated labels, and emerging designers who charge for their craftsmanship and are not price gouging you.

Hello 2025:

Mocha Mousse: This unlikely hue is the color of 2025. You don’t need to be exact with it, so focus on shades of brown you love, and will work within your wardrobe. Natural hues rule.

Soft and Slouchy looks: Gone are the days of uncomfortable fashion. Look for soft fabrics and silhouettes you can love and live in.

Earth tones: In addition to shades of brown, shades of green and colors found in nature are hotter than hot as we move into 2025. Time to be one with nature.

IYKYK: OK, so this has been around for years, but in 2025 it is really important. People should have to ask who makes your bag or clothing item, it should not be obvious. Therefore, items people know, even without logos, are out.

Thoughtful spending: Inflation is no joke, and with some designers’ price gouging us, it is no wonder that purchasing designer goods which are horrendously marked up in price is out. When you part with your hard earned dollars, make sure the item you are buying is actually worth the price. Otherwise, spend elsewhere.

There you have it. 2025 is all about elegantly blending in and not lining the pockets of greedy brands. Cheers to the new year and spending wisely!

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO
