Lee Jean Youn showed the fall/winter 2014/2015 collection yesterday at New York Fashion Week and the designs showed the true meaning of “wearable art.” The exquisite designs on Lee Jean Youn’s runway showcased a muted fall color palette filled with texture and a punk-meets-elegant vibe. The overall inspiration for the collection, according to the designer, was taken from the streets of the “everyday, modern women on the streets of New York City who cherish classic looks, yet are not afraid of breaking conventional rules and embracing ways of marrying style with functional needs in perfect harmony.”

The rich fabrication used in the collection included specialized needle punching techniques, primarily with silk organza and wool pelt mix. These fabrics are ideal for both daytime and evening apparel. The result is nothing short of fabulous!

My favorite piece from Lee Jean Youn’s collection is the dress in the photo below. What is your favorite look from the collection?

Rebecca Minkoff showed her fall/winter 2014/2015 collection at New York Fashion Week yesterday and it was full of the perfect pieces for fall! The color palette was simple offering neutrals, black, shades of blue and splashes of classic red. Minkoff’s philosophy for fall 2014 was introducing the “notion of modern practicality, opting for a simpler, more understated approach to dressing.  With an emphasis on clean lines, and harmonious separates.”

I feel in love with the entire handbag collection which was classic yet modern. The perfect investment worthy red handbags graced the runway paired with neutral, cool weather coats offered the ultimate silhouette of timeless sophistication. In the above photos I feature my favorite looks from the runway; and the blue coat, and red handbag I plan to buy when they hit store shelves!

The bottom photo features singer AlunaGeorge who sang throughout the runway show. Her voice was clean and beautiful; exactly like Rebecca Minkoff’s fall/winter 2014/2015 collection.
