Jay Godfrey presented his fall /winter 2015 / 2016 collection in the Pavilion at Lincoln Center on Saturday, February 14, 2015. The collection was sophisticated with a youthful, fresh vibe. Jay Godfrey used a combination of berry hues, black with gold, soft florals, plaid, and texture. The fabrications included sheer panels, sequins, fringe, charmeuse, and suede. There was a nod to the 1970’s with flares, culottes, a jumpsuit, and a tie neck blouse.

The pops of Marsala and orchid were a refreshing contrast to the somber colors other designers chose for fall. They offered an uplifting tone to the collection as a whole. I loved the floral prints, the color palette, and the texture. The gold and black plaid was a standout look while the floral dress was a star on the platform.

Charlotte Ronson threw a party, er, I mean, presentation, of her fall 2015 collection on Friday, February 13, 2015 at The Pavillion at Lincoln Center. The club-like vibe of the runway loop, er, show, er, presentation, showcased a serene collection which was urban, young, and feminine.

Normally when you see a presentation at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, the models are standing on platforms while guests walk from platform to platform; much like you would slowly wander and stop at a museum. Instead of doing the usual presentation format, Charlotte Ronson broke the “rules” and created a hybrid between a runway show and a presentation. The runway was short and there were no seats. Everyone crowded around a rectangular barrier; only photographers were allowed at the end of the make-shift runway. The show went in a loop, so if someone was standing in front of you, blocking your view, you did not have to fret, the runway show continuously repeated itself for roughly ninety minutes. It was brilliant!

In the background, Samantha Ronson DJ-ed the show and kept a cool, party vibe in the room. If you looked across the runway from where you were standing, you could spot celebrities such as EJ Johnson, son of Magic Johnson and star of “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.” The environment was cool and hip, setting exactly the right setting for a hip, urban collection. Loved it!

Charlotte Ronson’s fall / winter 2015 collection was inspired by the “serenity of nature coupled with an abstract urban setting.” The collection featured late 1960’s inspiration, delicate details, feminine materials, clean lines, soft texture, and a soft color palette. My two favorite pieces from the collection were the purple trench coat, and the burgundy high neck lace dress. Love!

Zimmermann sent their fall / winter 2015 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway on Friday, February 13, 2015. The energetic runway show evoked a 1970’s vintage vibe through prints, silhouettes, and a clear, mid to late 1970’s color palette. The coats and jackets were shown in vibrant hues, which were not too bright, but offered just the right amount of punch.

Zimmermann mixed soft fabrications on blouses, skirts and dresses with structured pants, jackets and handbags; as well as a jumper and jumpsuit. This juxtaposition offered movement, and attracted the eye to the overall look rather than one key piece. The lacework and eyelets were fresh; offering a sophisticated look which was both feminine and grown-up.

The accessories on Zimmermann’s fall 2015 runway included hats, structured clutches and totes, suede shoes-both platform and flat, and multi-layered gold necklaces. It was a stunning collection and captured the moment in fashion and culture perfectly. This will definitely be a highly sought-after collection for the fall 2015 season.
