fall menswear blazers outfit: large gold hoop earrings / Bobbi Brown lipstick “Lilac” / black short sleeve tee / oversize menswear blazer / distressed boyfriend jeans / Chloe handbag / Chanel holiday nail polish / black boots (old, similar pair here on major sale!)

The menswear trend is still going strong, and fall menswear blazers are a huge way to rock this runway trend on the street. I love the menswear blazer trend, because it reminds me of one of my favorite trends from the 1990s; the blazer trend!

In the 1990s, the blazers we wore over jeans were usually gabardine, or a rougher wool fabrication. They were typically black, or near black. My blazer was by DKNY and it was such a dark shade of green, most people mistook it for black. I loved that blazer, and wore it often. Now that the trend has returned, I am sad that I don’t own it any more!

The difference between the menswear blazer trend of the 1990s, and the fall menswear blazers trend of 2017, is that we have more options this time around. The perfect fall blazer does not need to be black, or near black. It can be any color from this season’s color palette; plus, it can be houndstooth or plaid. Love that!

If you are wondering how to wear the fall menswear blazers trend, it is super easy; just add jeans! Menswear blazers look on point this season when paired with jeans. While you can throw one over a dress, the ideal way to wear one is with jeans. It is an easy outfit to create, it’s comfortable, and it can make any jeans and tee combo look put together. Love!

I’m really happy with the blazer I found for the fall season. It isn’t too heavy, so I can wear it when temperatures reach the 70’s. Since our fall season here in the Bay Area is typically moderate to warm, this weight of jacket is perfect. The oversize silhouette is flattering too; if you have some junk in the trunk you would like to hide, like I do. haha Lastly, I am in love with the frayed hemline on this blazer. I think it adds a little somethin’ somethin’.

Holiday Hostess Gifts under $75

Holiday Hostess Gifts under $75 from top left: Holiday Giving Plate / bowls and cutting board / mini bundt cakes / holiday bottle opener set / home fragrance gift / holiday candle gift set / tea gift set

The holiday party season is about to begin! This means we all need to be prepared for those festive invitations to start rolling in. Nothing is worse, or more rude, then showing up to a holiday party empty handed; we need to arrive with creative holiday hostess gifts!

A bottle of wine or a bottle of champagne is the most boring, and expected, holiday hostess gift you can give. Not only does it show you were unprepared, and just grabbed something from your cellar, it can be deemed rude if your hostess does not drink alcohol. Yikes! Talk about a social faux-pas. For shame!

Holiday hostess gifts under $75 can turn out to be the perfect show of appreciation when you arrive at a party this season. The party hostess will appreciate the thought you put into the gift, as well as not being handed yet another bottle of wine; which s/he may not even drink.

There are a few types of holiday hostess gifts I enjoy giving when I arrive at a holiday party. I love to give gourmet food such as this mini bundt cake set or this nuts and dried fruit set. (I always make there aren’t any nut allergies before giving this one!) Candles, home fragrance, and coaster sets also make great hostess gifts for the holidays.

Luxurious holiday hostess gifts

I try not to think about trying to impress a party hostess with an expensive gift. If the hostess is a close family member, or one of my best friends, I tend to spend more on the gift simply because the person means a lot to me. For most parties, the perfect holiday hostess gift can be found under $75 and the hostess will love it! Plus, it is less likely the hostess will “price” the gift in his or her mind as she or he would with a bottle of wine. Cheap wine is always detected; especially if the receiver is a wine connoisseur.

What are your favorite holiday hostess gifts to give during the festive, holiday season?

Aveda Texture Tonic review

aveda texture tonic review

Do you ever try to create a tousled look, or add texture to your hair? I do! I always fail miserably though! So, when Aveda sent me their texture tonic, I was excited to give it a try!

Aveda’s Texture Tonic is a great tool for adding texture, without adding build-up to your hair. One of my pet peeves is using a hairstyling product which leaves residue, build-up and a greasy film. What I love about Aveda, is that their products leave none of this behind; and Aveda Texture Tonic is no exception. It leaves my hair lightweight, and clean. Love!

I don’t do a big beach hair look when I go for a little volume. I use Aveda Texture Tonic lightly to give my waves a little extra bounce, and definition. I really love the result!

If you are looking for volume, without bulk, you can find Aveda Texture Tonic online here.
