Fall 2011 Shoe trends: The Loafer Pump

Shoes styles for fall 2011 are not too much different than the shoe styles we have been seeing over the past several seasons. There are platform pumps, two-tone colored pumps, ankle straps, open toe booties, lace up boots and shades of rose, burgundy and plum. There is one shoe style for fall which is fresh and new, giving Fashionistas a flashback to the mid and late 1990’s; the Loafer Pump.

In the mid to late 1990’s the Loafer Pump was found in everyone’s closet. The versatile shoe was being worn in various styles including penny loafers, oxfords, Mary Janes and classic tassels. The fashion world loved the Loafer Pump since it was heavy enough to be worn with pants yet sleek enough to be paired with a skirt suit or dress.

For fall 2011 the style is back and it is taking store shelves by storm. Everywhere a fall shopper looks the Loafer Pump is calling and telling shoe lovers they need a pair. This season’s Loafer Pump is being shown in a variety of colors as well as color blocking. There are classic penny loafers and styles with tassels as well as designer interpretations of the shoe.

The fabulous thing about a pair of Loafer Pumps is that they can be worn with almost anything; making them the perfect shoe for business travel as well as any vacation. It is always easier to pack one pair of shoes rather than five!

When shopping for a Loafer Pump this season, look for more classic and neutral styles which can carry you into 2012. There is a good chance the Loafer Pump, being new on the scene, will continue for many seasons to come. By making a neutral investment this season, you will find the shoes pay for themselves over the next few years. Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Fall 2011 Fashion Trends: The Rose Blush Shoe

One of the biggest classic tricks a Fashionista has up her sleeves, in order to make her legs appear longer, is to wear high heels that are close in color to her leg. This elongates the leg and makes one appear taller and more fabulous. This fall, there is a move away from skin-tone beige and a move towards the rose or blush colored shoe. This shoe is being shown in classic high heel pump styles as well as extremely trendy cut out styles, open toe booties and ankle straps.

Hot designers such as Prada, Chanel and Christian Louboutin are showing this hue for fall and it is already creating quite a buzz in the form of flying off store shelves! What is intriguing about rose or blush is that the shade easily blends with autumn colors such as brown, burgundy, plum and forest green; all colors that are hot for fall 2011.

In addition to shoes, the rose or blush shade is popping up on handbags and apparel. As the fashion world moves away from candy pink, or Pantone’s “Honeysuckle,” the rose/blush color is taking the place as the ultimate “feminine shade” for fall. With fall’s sophisticated vintage trend and embellishment trends such as lace, rose/blush is the easiest color to pair with the majority of one’s fall 2011 wardrobe.

Rose/blush is also light enough to carry into winter when colors become softer. Another reason to invest in the famed hue? Rose/blush has been spotted on the Berlin spring 2012 runways; signaling to the fashion world that is may be an important shoe color for 2012.

A peep toe bootie may also be the ultimate investment piece for the season since one pair can take a Fashionistas from jeans during the day to a Diane von Furstenberg dress at night. When shopping for a fall pair of peep toe booties, keep in mind how versatile the style is and which colors would with the majority of your closet. Of course, one can never go wrong with Prada’s black version for $750. Happy shopping and stay fabulous
