ghostbusters fire station new york

wearing: stripe tee / statement earrings / spring nail polish / yellow pouch / black belt / flare jeans / pink sneakers /

Ghostbusters! This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, so it was natural for me to want to stop by the fire station where a lot of the magic happened in the movie. Quite literally!

The Ghostbusters fire station is a functioning firehouse. We saw fire fighters on duty, and we were able to peek into the side door where we could see an engine ready to go. For those of us who were looky-loos, we were all outside taking pictures.

I was happy to be able to take a quick photo in front of the firehouse despite the strong winds blowing right at me; I think you can tell the wind was strong by looking at me! haha

Speaking of Ghostbusters, I found out there is another sequel to the original movie, and it is in theaters right now! This version features the original actors. I am so excited! I am looking at my schedule as we speak to find a day to go see it. It looks so good! Have you seen it yet?

If you love Ghostbusters like me, there is also a fabulous Lego display at the Lego store near Rockefeller Plaza. I snapped a photo, which you can see below. The marshmallow man is my favorite villain from the movie.

Well, that’s my touristy, fan-girl visit to the Ghostbusters firehouse! If you love the movie like me, and happen to be in NYC, definitely stop by and get your superfan photo!

Thanks for stopping by!

Handbags under $1000 spring 2024

Spring 2024 handbags under $1000 from top left: black shoulder bag / neutral mini tote / black shoulder bag / chocolate brown slouchy tote / black handbag / yellow pouch /

There are so many fabulous handbags under $1000 for the spring 2024 season, it is unnecessary to spend thousands of dollars on a handbag; unless of course you are absolutely in love with it and know you will get a lot of use out of it, but I digress. . .

The spring 2024 is still all about the anonymous handbag. The ultimate IT bag is a bag no one knows, unless of course, they know! haha

Handbags right now are all about high quality, expert craftsmanship, and no loud logos. Think, investment handbags!

While fun colors are hot for spring, neutrals and black are also hot right now. A fun color can be an investment just as much as a neutral or black handbag. When shopping for a color, look for a hue you love and can picture yourself wearing every spring/summer season. Don’t buy a color because you think it is trendy, buy a shade you love and will cherish for years. That will make a colorful handbag a true investment.

So, without further ado, here are a few fabulous handbags from around the web priced under $1000 and investment worthy. Love!

I hope you find your forever bag under $1000!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hudson Yards on a rainy day

wearing: statement earrings / blue sweater / black parka / yellow pouch / spring nail polish / black belt / flare jeans / sneakers /

While the weather was mild during the majority of our trip, we had one really stormy day where the skies just opened up. In one brief moment, there was a break in the storm, so we took that opportunity to snap a couple photos outside Hudson Yards. Unfortunately, the Vessel was closed due to the weather, so outside photos were our only option on the day we visited.

Since my daughter is a Civil Engineering major, Hudson Yards was fun to walk around and explore. The new buildings have some interesting engineering features which are great to see up close when you are an engineering student. She enjoyed seeing the architecture and how it was executed, and so did I!

We spent most of our time at Hudson Yards inside due to the weather. There is a shopping mall which features all the stores you know from your local mall. We enjoyed a boba break at Xing Fu Tang.

It was nice to have a place to wander around inside since the storm was pretty strong when we were outside. We had weathered it earlier in the day for tea time at Laduree and seeing a few other sites.

If you are heading to New York, see if you can schedule Hudson Yards on a calm weather day, that way the Vessel will be open and you will have the opportunity to go inside. I have this on my list for my next trip to New York. It looks like it would be amazing to go to the top!

Hudson Yards is also a great stop if you want a little retail therapy. While you won’t find independent boutiques there, you will find national chains you are familiar with, and perhaps needed to pick something up from that you forgot at home.

Oh, and if you decide to grab some boba, the cookies and cream is delicious!

Thanks for stopping by!
