Red is always a huge color trend for the autumn season. Although, for the fall/winter 2013/2014 season, this bright yet classic hue dominated the runways in Paris, Milan, New York and London; and is currently dominating store shelves.

There are many shades of red for the fall 2013 season. We are seeing shades of red ranging from bright, fire engine red through to deep, dark burgundy. The wine shades are dropping into every category of red imaginable; making shopping your closet for fall, if you are a red fan, the easiest thing in the world!

There are no rules when it comes to red! Red is everywhere for fall from lipstick to nail polish to tonal ensembles to shoes to handbags; literally all over the place! Metallic hues have been on trend for the past few years and are showing no signs of slowing down for the fall 2013 season. Designers continued to show metallic accents and accessories for fall/winter 2013/2014 when they sent models down the runways in New York, Paris, Milan and London. Store buyers are continuing to love the trend and have stocked store shelves for fall with the sparkling touch.

Metallics are everywhere for fall 2013. In addition to solid colored pieces, metallics are part of the ongoing color blocking trend. They are being spotted together with bright colors and autumn hues. Metallics are also being paired with fall’s hot animal print trend as part of the blocked print trend.

Every shade of metallic is hot for fall 2013. You have your pick from bright silver, gold, pewter, copper, brass and more. Purple is a huge trend for fall/winter 2013/2014 which was sparse on the runways, yet has exploded onto store shelves for the upcoming cool weather season. Purple is being shown in deep shades which are flying off store shelves; making this traditional fall hue more of a street trend than runway trend for autumn.

As pre-fall and fall 2013 merchandise makes its’ ways from the runways to store shelves, consumers are snapping up every piece of purple they can find. That’s right! Purple is selling out-fast.
One of the biggest purple trends for fall 2013 is the purple satchel. This structured and classic handbag is barely arriving in stores before being snapped up by purple fans everywhere.

Purple, of course, is being shown on both apparel and accessories. One of the easy ways to wear purple is on a handbag since it can be carried almost every day.
