Michael Costello spring 2017 New York Fashion Week runway and beauty

Michael Costello sent his spring 2017 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Skylight Moynihan in New York. The collection was dreamy, magical, and took us to a place where dreams are made. Yes, it was truly amazing!

I feel in love with the vibrant purples, sparkling fabrics, and extravagant ruffles. It was beautiful!

The pictures I took from my seat did not come out very well, so thankfully I have PR photos I can share with you, as well as all the fabulous beauty tips from backstage! I’m excited to share with you how to repeat the Michael Costello beauty look straight from the runway, at home! Love that!

The beauty look on Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway at New York Fashion Week stressed each model’s natural beauty. The makeup artists created high intensity beauty looks which were layered, yet were done in the perfect colors to match each model’s individual skin tone. The result? A fabulous, natural yet intense, beauty look to covet for the upcoming spring season. Love!

Michael Costello’s spring/summer 2017 New York Fashion Week runway collection was “Midnight at the Botanical Bash.” The look was inspired by a dark garden soiree, with makeup focusing on a dark berry lip, bold, bronzed glossy eyes and natural skin.

“This season we really thought about how the natural beauty of a flower resembles that of a woman: Delicate, radiant, unique,” said designer Michael Costello. “The makeup speaks to our idea of how dark and moody is often glamorous, elegant and intriguing.”

How to get the Michael Costello spring 2017 runway beauty look at home:

Edward Cruz, lead makeup artist for INGLOT, created non-traditional, blended-out gold and berry eyes. He used Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte #296 and #299 from INGLOT’s new What A Spice! Collection ($7 each) as the base, and layered on deep gold #81 and berry sparkle #24 using AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadow ($16 each).

Cruz layered matte, cranberry Lipstick Matte #438 ($15) with AMC Lip Paint #58 ($14) to create an opaque, berry ombre lip.

How to get the metallic ombre nail look from Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway:

The nails on Michael Costello’s spring 2017 runway were done by Essie. They started with Essie First Base Base Coat, then applied Good as Gold, then, using a latex makeup wedge, Good as Gold, and Sole Mate were blended together in the second coat horizontally, and lightly. Working quickly, tap the wedge lightly on the nail creating an ombre look. Then top it off with Good To Go Top Coat.

With dark lips, purples, and ombre nails a hot trend now and into spring, these are great looks to recreate to wear this season, as well as into next year! I love how we can all wear a little spring 2017 before fall 2016 is in full swing. Love it! The products used for both the beauty looks, and the runway nails, can be found in the widget below. I can’t wait to try this at home! Let me know if you try it!

Makeup c/o L’Oreal Paris fall 2016 beauty collection from top: eye shadows / lip palettes / limited edition celebrity inspired lipsticks / foundation with sunscreen / lash primer / liquid eyeliner

L’Oreal Paris has introduced their fall 2016 makeup collection, and it is beyond fabulous! There are several eye shadow palettes in neutrals, and on-trend shades of blue. The colors go perfectly with classic looks, and this season’s 1970s inspired designs. I love the large amount of neutrals, blues, and metallics for the fall season. They are on trend, and fabulous!

The foundation is beyond amazing. It is long lasting, contains sunscreen, and comes in a squeezable tube. This makes getting just the right amount out of the bottle, to apply on my face, easier than ever! This design is genius.

My favorite part of the L’Oreal Paris fall 2016 collection are the lipsticks. They are inspired by celebrities and come in the perfect colors. There are various shades of pink, and purple. My two favorites are “Eva” and “Juliette.” I plan on bringing them to New York Fashion Week with me! I have been wearing “Juliette” non-stop lately too. The lipstick is moisturizing, and has a nice scent. It applies smoothly, without clumping. Love!

Fall 2016 is all about 1970s inspiration, shades of blue, metallic hues, neutrals, and berry hues. L’Oreal Paris’s fall 2016 collection has the perfect colors to fit into the current trends for the autumn season. Love it!

Stella McCartney POP edp review

stella mccartney pop edp review

Fragrance: c/o Stella McCartney POP edp

Stella McCartney POP eau de parfum is a woody floral scent from famed designer Stella McCartney. POP by Stella McCartney is a warm, medium floral fragrance with a warm, woody base. It is a fabulous fragrance to wear now, and well into the fall season. Love!

Top notes: Tomato Leaves, Violet Leaves, Green Mandarin,

Middle notes: Violet, Tuberose, Plumeria,

Base notes: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Musks

Stella McCartney POP edp starts off with a fresh, almost-green scent which is quickly met with the warm, smooth floral scent of violet and tuberose. The plumeria sits softly behind the violet and the tuberose. The floral scent has a slight woody lace throughout the day. After a full day, the florals settle in and you are left with a warm, woody base which is smoothed out by the musk note.

This combination of florals and woods makes POP by Stella McCartney perfect for moderate to cool weather. The scent is warming, yet bold; offering a cozy way to wear florals when the temperatures begin to dip. Love that!

I also would like to give this bottle design a shout out. The bottle evokes a carefree, 60’s vibe which is right in line with our current vintage trend in apparel. I always feel like an outfit is never complete without the right fragrance. POP is easy to wear with fall’s trends, making it the perfect finishing touch to any ensemble this autumn season.

Stella McCartney POP edp can be found online here.

I rate Stella McCartney POP edp five out of five stars! Love it!
