SheIn summer wish list

my picks for summer from Shein

Wish list: my SheIn summer sale picks from left: dress / bomber jacket (so hot and on trend!) / tee / handbag (under $20!) / tunic / anklets (so cool for the beach, and under $10!) / dress

It is that time of year! Although summer has just kicked off, retailers are marking down fabulous, stylish, on trend summer pieces! SheIn has a large selection of extremely affordable, runway-inspired clothing and accessories; and to add some sugar to their already sweet pricing, they are having a huge sale! Almost everything on their website is marked down. Love it!

If you saw my summer kimono outfit post last month, you are already aware that I love their large selection of kimonos. They are so perfect for summer! A kimono can elevate a basic tee, and shorts for summer into an ensemble! I love throwing my kimono over a tank top and shorts, or a tee and jeans. It turns basic pieces into a complete, chic look! Love that!

Here are a few of my favorite kimonos from SheIn’s website, on sale, for summer!

My absolute favorite summer sale pieces are pictured in the collage above. The jacket is already on its’ way to me, and I have a few of the others in my shopping cart. How fabulous is the burgundy tee! It is perfect to wear right now, and well into the fall season. Plus, it is under $10. Love that!

Here are some more of my favorite clothing items from the SheIn summer sale:

Chanel Cavaliere nail polish summer 2016

chanel cavaliere nail polish for summer 2016Pictured: Chanel Cavaliere nail polish for summer 2016

Chanel has channeled their autumn archives for inspiration when they created the nail polish hues for their summer 2016 collection; at least, in my humble opinion. Almost every fall season, Chanel creates a beautiful brown nail polish hue which is timeless, and timely, for the autumn season. For summer 2016, Chanel Cavaliere nail polish is the Parisian design house’s early autumn gift to nail polish fans everywhere. It’s a fall brown!

There are no two ways around it; Chanel Cavaliere nail polish for summer 2016 looks like a fall brown. It is a medium-dark hue with a slight, sparkling undertone. It really makes me crave dark chocolate. It is entirely possible I have consumed a bit more chocolate this week than normal. Hmm . . .wonder why?! Ha!

Chanel Cavaliere nail polish is a beautiful, brown hue which is timeless, and fabulous. I love this shade! It is perfect to wear now, if you are already bored of your summer color palette, and it is also perfect to wear during the late summer months when we are all feeling like transitioning into the autumn season. I get August and September vibes from this color. Just sayin’ 😉

Although Chanel Cavaliere nail polish is part of Chanel’s new Longwear colour collection, I have found this particular hue wears like the old Chanel nail polish formula. I tested it out with one base coat, two coats of Chanel Cavaliere, and one gleaming top coat. I received one chip on my left pinky, and it wore slightly at the tips of the nails. The entire home-manicure lasted for eight days; which is quite good.

I love Chanel Cavaliere nail polish as a neutral hue for the fall season; I also feel like it would be a good color on toe nails since it is neutral. It should not clash with any summer footwear; that is always a plus!

Until I transition to fall, I will be using Chanel Cavaliere as my go-to toe nail polish. When autumn approaches, I will go back to my hands. What do you think of this very-autumn-hue for the summer 2016 season?

Boho-chic will release your inner hippie

Have you ever wondered how to release your inner hippie? I’m not sure how to do it in a theoretical sense, but I know how to release my inner hippie from a fashion standpoint! Peace 😉

As the 1970s trend matures, the hippie look, or boho-chic look, is maturing with it. Designers have shown boho-chic looks on the runways, adorned their designs with fringe, and have offered an anti-establishment vibe in their collections for the past several seasons. Since this trend is showing no sign of slowing down as we head into fall, it is perfect to wear now.

Lately, I have felt the urge to really push my own style envelope. I grew up in Marin County, which is arguably the most liberal pocket of the country. As a child, I was surrounded by aging hippies. I saw hippie vans, men with long hair, protesters, and the 1960s refusing to die despite it being the 1980s. Due to this environment, I find something nostalgic, and calming, about the boho-chic look.

Although I am far from being a hippie, I absolutely love the boho-chic look! I love fringe, loose clothing, long silhouettes, and natural hair. Perhaps inside my conservative persona, there is an inner hippie trying to break out!

This outfit feels good, and it makes me feel tall. I love feeling tall! Especially since I am short. Ha! I love the weight of this vest, it feels cool; and I love how it moves. I cannot wait to pair it with jeans, cut-offs, and long skirts this summer season. It will also flow well into the fall season.

If you want to release your inner hippie through the boho-chic look, why not try this vest as your summer go-to topper? It definitely adds a little bit of hippie to any ensemble. You can find this vest (on major sale!) online here.

I also need to give a shout-out to these pants. They are super comfortable! Plus, they were under $10. How fabulous is that!? I love the print; it is very boho, which is the perfect look when you are trying to bring out your inner hippie. They are also perfect to wear as a swimsuit cover-up at the beach, or with a tank top on a hot summer day. They will transition easily into fall when paired with a long sleeve tee, or lightweight sweater. Love!
