Wondering how to style a spring skirt in the winter months? This is something I find myself doing often. I love spring and summer clothing, so I tend to purchase more clothing during the warm weather seasons then I do during the winter. My two weaknesses during the winter are coats, and jackets! So I find myself reaching for spring or summer items in my closet, and restyling them for the cold winter weather.

I will say this, the San Francisco Bay Area is more mild in the winter months compared to other parts of the country. That being said, our temperatures do go down into the 30’s and 40’s sometimes, so I need to strategically style spring and summer clothing for the winter.

This outfit I have featured in this post I wore to church a couple of weeks ago, and then out to lunch with my family. It is a spring skirt, winter sweater, fall booties, and accessories which transcend seasons. In order to stay warm in the high 40 degree weather, I layered a long sleeve tee underneath the sweater, and I am wearing ankle socks, you cannot see, inside my booties. It worked like a charm!

If temperatures were cooler than they were that day, this outfit could easily be worn with knee or thigh-high boots, thicker socks, and a coat. I think a navy coat such as this one on sale, would be fabulous! Also, if you top it off with this beanie, it would look NYFW, street-style ready. Love!

Guerlain Rouge lipstick is a lightweight, cream lipstick which includes it’s own compact mirror. I love how this lipstick comes with it’s own mirror. It is quite handy when you have a small handbag or clutch, and need to save space. Love it!

Normally I shy away from cream lipsticks, but sometimes an occasion, or an outfit, calls for more lip color then a sheer lipstick can provide. When looking for cream lipsticks, I always look for ones which do not run, smudge, cake, or add weight. My lips do not need to weight-lift during the day thank you very much.

This cream lipstick by Guerlain is just perfect. It does not add weight, never smudges, doesn’t run, and stays put on my lips. Love! Plus, did I mention the cute little compact mirror? 😉

I chose Georgia 62 as a nice contrast for spring in my lipstick collection. Most of my lipsticks are either beige, golden, or vampy; which is in line with spring 2017’s lipstick trend. Sometimes I just want a classic color, and to eschew trends for certain moods or activities. This classic, pinkish coral hue is perfect for just that.

The Guerlain Rouge collection of lipsticks is fabulous when I need a cream lipstick. This is my first Guerlain lipstick and I love it. I am looking forward to adding more to my collection in the future.

Irresistible Me hair extensions review

I have always loved having long hair. But I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind having longer, fuller hair. I mean, who wouldn’t?! So, when Irresistible Me offered me a sample of their Silky Touch, clip-in hair extensions, I couldn’t resist! Three cheers for longer, fuller hair!

There are so many variations of natural colored hair. I was not quite cure if the extensions would match my hair when they arrived. Thankfully, they are a perfect match! It was as if they were made for my hair! Love! My perfect color match is color #4.

Since I was going to get extensions, I decided I might as well get the heavier weight, and a long length. I order the 20″ extensions in 200g. They are slightly longer then my natural hair, making them blend in well, without looking like obvious extensions.

The Irresistible Me Silky Touch extensions arrive in a small box. There is one extension kept separated from the rest so you can test it out against your hair color and make sure it is a good match. This makes the box easy to return if the color or length is incorrect. Fortunately, mine was a perfect match!

This is my natural hair, and no make-up look. OK, I am wearing lipstick-but that’s it! My hair length is fine, and my volume is OK, but sometimes a girl needs a little bit more va-va-voom in her hairstyle! Amiright?

The Irresistible Me Silky Touch hair extensions arrive with different widths inside the box. There are one comb, two comb, three comb, and four comb widths. This comes in handy when you want to add volume in specific places. I used the four comb extension on the back of my head and two of the three comb extensions on the sides. I used the two and one comb extensions to fill in where my hair seemed to need a little bit more hair. I left one two comb extension, and one three comb extension, in the box. I felt like I had enough volume from the other pieces.

This is the end result! I like the length, and there is A LOT of volume. I’m not used to having so much hair on my head! haha.

In the photo above, I did not style the hair extensions. This is how they look naturally clipped in my hair. My normal look is fairly natural, so I like how the extensions look out of the box. That being said, for special events, and going out, they can easily be styled to look va-va-voom!

The Irresistible Me Silky Touch hair extensions can easily be curled with a curling iron, straightened with a flat-iron, and set in place with styling products. Since they are made with real hair, they are as easy to style as your own hair. Love that!

If you are skeptical about slip-in extensions, don’t be! As long as they are clipped in underneath your own hair, no-one can see the clips. They look like part of your head. There is a lot of hair in the box, so you can wear some pieces, or wear them all; depending upon the event or your mood. Love!

I am excited to own a set of Irresistible Me Silky Touch hair extensions. They will come in handy for special events, going out, or anytime I feel like having a lot of hair!
