Casual late summer early fall outfit

Last Friday, Dawn and I went back to Nordstrom at Valley Fair in order to check out the Anniversary Sale on the first public access day. Since I borrowed my Mom’s Nordstrom card to shop the sale early, this was my first chance to do some additional shopping on my own, non-Nordstrom card.

In addition to checking out the sale, this was the Friday before my daughter’s eleventh birthday, and she wanted a shopping trip to Justice as her birthday present. So we combined the sale, and her birthday shopping, into one trip! It was so much fun!

I was surprised at how much was sold out from the first week of the sale! A lot of the things I was waiting to get during public access were gone! I am so glad I snagged my must-haves during the early access portion of the sale. I was able to pick up a few things for my teenage daughter; which was a godsend since school starts in four weeks! Eeek!

This blouse was one of my purchases from the early access portion of the sale, and it is still in stock online! It has turned into my favorite clothing purchase from the sale; these booties being my number one favorite purchase. This blouse does not wrinkle at all. It is so amazing! I know if I take any trips this fall, this blouse will be the first thing I pack in my suitcase. It is perfect for travel!

The fabric is also lightweight enough to wear in late summer, and on foggier summer days. It will be perfect during the fall months. When winter hits, I can throw a jacket or coat over it and this blouse will carry me through until the spring season. I know it will be go-to blouse. The black and white pattern is easy to pair with jeans, trousers, or a pencil skirt for the office. Love that!

My daughter took these photos at the mall, she did a great job didn’t she! I’m so proud of her, she loves photography and will be taking it as an elective in sixth grade. She enjoyed hanging out with Dawn and I; she felt like one of the girls, and so grown up!

I was so thrilled a few weeks ago when Lumene reached out to me and offered to send some more products to test out! I was first introduced to Lumene last spring, and posted about their products on Instagram. I had not been using them long enough to warrant a full blog; but now that I have been using their products for a few months, and really enjoy them, I decided to share with you what I love!

All five of the products from the Lumene Valo Collection are fabulous. They blend natural goodness of rare Arctic Cloudberry; a wild super-fruit that is packed with vitamins C, A and E. (sounds like something I want to eat!) It is also packed with fatty acids which helps to create a powerful hydrating Nordic-C complex. This collection of skin care products by Lumene help to enhance radiance, and improve overall complexion evenness. Love that! It is what I need, and I think we all need, during the summer months!!

Vitamin C is more then just something we should eat. It is a fabulous, powerful antioxidant which helps fight free-radical damage, lighten pigmentation (hello uneven skin color from sun burns!), and combat acne. (which I suffer from!). Vitamin C is amazing for all skin types!!

While I love all of these products, there are three I cannot live without.

This is the Lumene Valo Arctic Berry Cocktail. It is SO AMAZING! During the summer months I am all about brightening my skin. Despite my heavy usage of sunscreen, I still end up with uneven skin tones. This cocktail does wonders for my skin; evening out the dark skin above my lip, and on my nose. Plus, this has a yummy smell. I want to eat these berries! Of course, this goes on skin, not in the tummy. Please don’t try to eat it 😉 haha

I use a brightening moisturizer at night, and during the day I have been using this day moisturizer with spf 15 from the Lumene Valo collection. My skin has been really smooth and my acne problem has calmed down quite a bit. I alternate between different skin creams depending upon the season, and the weather. This is a fabulous face cream for right now. It keeps my dry, summer skin moisturized. Love that!

Seriously, cannot live without this in the summer months. This hydrating mist is a lifesaver after a day in the sun, at the beach, outside; basically after a fun summer day. Although it is meant for the face, I have sprayed it on my shoulders too, and it feel SO GOOD! It is a great mid-day refresher if I don’t have time to wash my face in the middle of the day, and it needs it. I spray it on a cotton square and then pat onto my skin.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale public access and restocks 2017

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public starting day! Whoopee! I am so happy because I am not a cardholder, so now I can buy a few things without asking my Mom if I can borrow her Nordstrom card. haha

Today I bought this pair of tapestry slides (so hot for fall!!) and this pair of silver slides (also a hot fall trend). I cannot wait to receive them! Slides are one of the hottest, must-have trends for fall 2017, and these prices are SO GOOD!

Can we talk about this classic and cozy coat for a bit? I bought this coat at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year, and it sold out within the first two weeks of the sale. I didn’t even get a chance to post it on the blog last year! Despite it not making an appearance on the blog, I wore it all. the. time! It fits well, and it is super cozy. I thought my eyes were deceiving me when it re-appeared in the sale this year! I did a label check, and even looked at it in-store to make sure it was the same coat. It is the same coat! It is also offered in a really pretty pale pink this year. If you are looking for a comfortable and cozy, classic coat for the late fall, and winter seasons, this is the coat! The price is crazy good, and this coat is extremely good quality. Doesn’t it look new? I wore it to death last year! I plan to wear it to death this year too!

These booties are turning into my favorite pair of shoes; despite the hot weather. They are super comfortable, and they seem to match everything! Nordstrom just added them in black today, so you can choose from black, taupe and charcoal. Love them!
