How to shop your closet for spring 2018

Spring 2018 is almost here! In the fashion world, it’s in full swing! This means we all need to get our closets in order before we head out to the malls and start shopping. The last thing we want to do is buy something we already own. Um, yes, I’ve done that before; so, I want to make sure you don’t make my mistake!

There are a few trends this spring 2018 season we can find inside our closets. This is good news because it means we can all save a little bit of money when shopping for the spring season. Yay! It’s almost like free clothing! Well. . .almost. . .

Many trends from last spring, and the spring before, are back in style. So, let’s dive into our closets and shop until we drop!

Pointy Toe Pumps

You know you have at least one pair stuffed in the back of your closet! Pointy toe pumps are hotter then hot this spring 2018 season, so dust off those pointed toes and bring them front and center. They are your IT shoe of the season. Love that!

Cult Gaia Ark Bag

Did you buy a Cult Gaia Ark bag last year? If so, fabulous! It’s still a hot bag to wear this year. Also, since circles, bamboo, and straw, are all hotter then hot in the handbag world for the spring 2018 season, the Cult Gaia Ark bag fits in perfectly. It’s a half circle, and it’s bamboo; perfection!

Florals

OMG! So groundbreaking, right?! You know you have something with a floral print somewhere in your closet, or stuffed in the back of that drawer you never open. Pull it out, iron it, and hang it front and center in your closet. Florals are hotter then hot for spring. Who knew?! Haha 😉

Yellow

OK, you might not have yellow in your closet, but then again, maybe you do? Yellow has always been around, and it started to become popular last year. So, perhaps you have one yellow item floating around somewhere in your closet. Or, maybe a couple of years ago you jumped on the yellow handbag trend. Fabulous! Pull it out, and wear it often. Yellow is anything but mellow this season!

Purple

As you know, Ultra Violet is the color of 2018. It is extremely similar to 2014’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid. Chances are, you have something purple from 2014 hanging in the back of your closet; or perhaps a fabulous purple handbag sits in your archives. It’s time to bring it back to the front of your closet because purple is everything this year. Love!

White Handbags

White handbags are a huge trend this spring season. White handbags also happen to be a classic summer handbag color. There is a really good chance you own a white handbag. Dust it off, wear it often, and be fabulous.

Girlfriend Jeans

Not a new trend at all, but the denim outline of the season no less. Keep those girlfriend jeans in the front of your denim drawer, they are the ultimate denim style this season. Don’t have a pair? No worries, put your boyfriend jeans in the dryer and voila! Shrunken boyfriend jeans equal a new pair of girlfriend jeans! Haha, No really, I’ve done it and it works.

Stripes

Stripes were hot last year, and they continue to be hot this year. Wear all the stripes! Mix your stripes, or wear them stand-alone; either way, you will look fabulous.

Denim Jacket

You know you own one! It’s the ultimate jacket of the season. If you feel like it is too plain, add some sequins or bedazzle it with pearls; instant update! Love it!

Colored Denim

You know those purple skinnies are still in the back of that drawer you never open. Bring them out, because colored skinnies are baaaaa-aaaaaack! Any color of jean is fabulous this season, so wear whatever you have, and you’re set!

Of course, there are many more trends this spring 2018 then what I have mentioned, but these are the easiest trends from past seasons to shop from your closet. Now that you have found what’s hot for spring in your closet, you can buy that circle bag you have been eyeing with all the money you saved! Love!

Well, you know, I’m a sucker for anything blue! Chanel released four spring 2018 nail polish colors mid-season, and this new blue one caught my eye. It’s a light navy color, which fits perfectly into spring’s classic color palette.

Over the years, Chanel has released plenty of versions of navy blue nail polish. This isn’t a ground-breaking, or earth-shattering, color; but it is a really pretty navy blue. It isn’t a super dark navy, like Chanel typically releases in the fall season. Bleu Trompeur nail polish is a medium navy blue, which is lighter then other navy colors in Chanel’s nail polish line.

I tested out Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish for spring 2018 with one base coat, and two coats of color. I did not use a top coat. I have found that Chanel nail polish doesn’t really need a top coat anymore; since the release of their longwear collection a few years ago. Like with other Chanel colors, Bleu Trompeur is long lasting, and gave me a week before chipping. Love that!

If you are looking for a neutral yet non-conservative nail color this spring 2018 season, then Chanel Bleu Trompeur nail polish is for you! Navy is an easy color to wear with all color groups from the spring palette. Since Blue Trompeur isn’t a classic pink or red hue-yet it still acts like a neutral color while it gives off a playful, avant-garde vibe; which is a great way to to be neutral, without wearing a neutral. Love it!

This is THE BAG! I first spotted the Brahmin Lane Melbourne handbag on Kat from KatWalkSF.com at New York Fashion Week. I told her how much I loved her bag, and she told me it was Brahmin! After seeing her wear it, I suddenly realized, this was the same bag I was seeing on guests of fashion week at all the shows. This was arguably the most popular bag on the streets of New York Fashion Week!

At the end of fashion week, I scoured my street style photos and notes. it was clear to me that this bag was on of the top ten most spotted at fashion week. Top that off with the fact that it is a circle bag, another hot spring trend, and we have the makings of an IT bag! Love that

The Brahmin Lane Melbourne bag is simply stunning. It is a structured handbag with stamped croc leather. The stamped croc is on both the front and back of the bag. The back features a handy opera ticket pocket which is a great place to put letters I need to mail. haha, It can be used for many things, that is just what I use it for.

This beautiful circle bag has a detachable shoulder strap which can be adjusted to be worn over the shoulder, or cross body. It’s fairly lightweight, so the Lane Melbourne by Brahmin is comfortable to wear on the shoulder; but it is always nice to have the cross body option.

In addition to the detachable strap, there is a lady bag inspired top handle. I love carrying it by the top handle, it offers a vintage vibe when worn by the top handle.

Since the Brahmin lane Melbourne is on the smaller handbag side, I was afraid it wouldn’t hold very much; I was wrong! It is actually quite roomy inside!

The interior features a credit card slot pocket, zipper pocket, and key latch. It’s very organized for a small bag, yet the main compartment fits quite a bit! I can fit my wallet, sunglasses, lipstick, keys, and iPhone with plenty of space left for Kleenex, a phone charger, or any other small incidental I might need to throw in my bag. As a mother of three, my kids are always giving me things to hold, so extra space in my bag is must-have!

This is my first Brahmin handbag, and I am quite impressed! The leather is sturdy and the craftsman is top notch. The stitches are even and tight; this is a very well made bag! Love! Now I know why my friend Kat wears it all the time, and why my Mom has another Brahmin handbag style she loves, and wears often too! I’m a new Brahmin fan!

The Brahmin Lane Melbourne handbag comes in five beautiful colors. The coconut (white) and pecan (brown) were the two most common colors I spotted on the streets of New York Fashion Week. While these colors are beautiful, you also have a choice of black, ribbon (raspberry red), and my favorite-Astral!

Brahmin also has a smooth leather version, and a blue python version; which is stunning! Drool!!
