Are you enjoying spring weather yet? We were earlier last week, and then we had a cold rain storm blow through the Bay Area. Hopefully next week is a little bit warmer. At least we have beautiful blossoms on our trees; which is a very spring thing!

Can I give these running shoes a shout-out? I have been working out in them for three weeks, and now and I am in love! They are super stable and comfortable. The shock absorption is beyond fabulous, and my feet are so happy! I use them for cardio workouts, strength training, walking, and jogging. If you are in the market for a new workout shoe, these running shoes are amazing! They come in a ton of colors too, so if grey isn’t your thing, check them out, you may find a color you like better.

Spring handbags, particularly IT bags, are hot right now! Nail polish and lipstick are also hot spring items right now. If it’s too cold for spring attire where you live, beauty products, shoes, and handbags are a great way to rock spring, and brighten up a grey day. Love that!

I love this wrap jacket for spring. It needs ironing from time to time, but it’s worth the effort. The jacket is super flattering, and just the right weight for spring weather. It will also come in handy this summer in the evenings, as well as on foggy late spring, and summer days. Also, ivory and white everything is a hot street trend right now. If white shoes, handbags and belts are a little scary for you, like they are for me, a white jacket is a great way to rock the neutral white trend.

Alum Rock Park hiking trails

Alum Rock Park is a large outdoor recreation area in San Jose, California. This park is the oldest municipal park in San Jose, dating back to 1872. It’s located on the eastern side of San Jose and offers playgrounds, picnic areas, multiple hiking trails, and a visitor center with camps and activities where visitors can learn more about the wildlife in the area. In addition to being a great place for outdoor fun and education, there is a historic aspect to the park!

The Alum Rock Mineral Springs were very popular in the early 1900s. While the mineral springs are now defunct, the remnants can be found along the hiking trails and provide a beautiful addition to the natural surroundings.

The hiking trails in Alum Rock are not too difficult, and are perfect for families. We enjoyed hiking through the park and occasionally stopping to take pictures of each other with the ruins from the springs. It was extremely relaxing and beautiful. I cannot believe we hadn’t visited Alum Rock Park before! It’s perfect for a day of fun, exercise, and a little education.

If you are local to the Bay Area, I highly recommend visiting Alum Rock Park; especially if you have children. The park gets very busy, so I recommend going early; before 9am. This way you can enjoy the park stress-free. Love that!

Looking back at the last twelve months

Can you believe it has been twelve months since the shut downs began? This week last year, tech companies began asking their employees to work from home, and one week later, children were told to stay home from school and learn virtually. Did you ever think you would live through something like this? I sure didn’t!

As I look back over the past twelve months, I try to think about all the positive things which have arisen from the shut downs. We were able to spend more time together as a family, and life got a little bit slower. I was able to concentrate on delayed maintenance at home, and work on my blog a little bit more. That being said, I am looking forward to the next twelve months!

The next twelve months should be a positive time. I look forward to getting my vaccine and seeing all my friends and family in person again. I look forward to a normal schedule for my kids, and being able to travel. As I look ahead, I see a lot of hope and happiness. What about you?
