Happy National Handbag Day 2021! As you know, this is one of my favorite national days, because handbags are so much fun! This year, I thought I would celebrate my current favorites, as well as my long-loved Givenchy Antigona.

Let’s start with the Givenchy! When I went into my photo gallery to find a picture of my Givenchy Antigona, there were a couple of pages of close-up photos. It’s incredible how often I wear this bag. I have to say, my Antigona is a fabulous, workhorse bag. It is extremely strong and durable. I have carried a heavy, DSLR camera around in it, as well as anything my kids have asked me to hold for them over the years. It has gone to many fashion week’s with me, and it has been my go-to bag when I need a roomy handbag for years. I have a black one, and a light blue one. The black bag is the one I reach for the most, but the light blue bag has been a nice alternative over the years. The Antigona is definitely my best handbag purchase-ever; even over my classic Chanel’s!

I also want to celebrate Mansur Gavriel’s new Candy Bag, and current IT bag, the Cloud clutch. These are great handbags which are easy to wear on a daily basis; plus, they are priced under $1000. Love that!

BAF Weekly IT List

fall 2021 street style trends

BAF Weekly IT List from top left: convertible handbag (IT bag under $300) / chain pouch / G buckle belt / fall Dior nail polish / fall Chanel nail polish / green pleated skirt / grey slouchy satchel / lug sole boot / black structured hobo bag /

If there was a color of the season, I would declare it green! This fall hue has been spotted everywhere on the streets, and it seems to be selling really well too! I have to admit, I am loving green this season as well. My favorite nail polish for fall is this metallic green from Dior, and this green skirt is my favorite dressy piece.

As we head towards the holiday season, I feel like shades of green will continue to be popular. After all, it just so happens to be one of the two traditional Christmas colors! I definitely want to continue building green into my current wardrobe! What are your thoughts on green?

Touches of the 1990s are still hot this season, as well as chain details, lug soles, loafers, and structured hobos. These hot trends from the runways have definitely taken the streets by storm. Fall street style is all about 1990s style! Love that!

China Camp State Park camping and beach

china camp state park beach

China Camp State Park is a Bay Area jewel. It’s a beautiful state park which features camping, hiking, biking, water activities, and a beach on the bay. In addition to outdoor activities, China Camp State Park offers local Bay Area history which isn’t typically taught in schools. Love!

We recently took a weekend camping trip to China Camp State Park, and it was both beautiful and fun. The campsites are flat, and well maintained. There are plenty of hiking trails, biking trails, and fabulous views of the bay. The campsite is a quick drive from the beach, which also features a museum, and several buildings that are original to the historical fishing village.

You can drive, hike, or bike to the beach from the campgrounds. Then, you can relax on the beach with your own picnic, or you can buy snacks from the shop on-site. We drove to the beach from the campgrounds, and we brought our own sandwiches. It was relaxing and fun!

China Camp State Park campgrounds are easily accessible from 101 in San Rafael. I recommend making your campsite reservations six months in advance so you can pick the site you want, and ensure you actually get a site. October was a great month to camp since it wasn’t too hot, and the campground wasn’t crowded.

The campgrounds offer bathrooms and showers. For the showers, make sure you bring quarters as they require payment with quarters. Also, prepare to store your food at night in your car, or the bear box. The racoons are very smart, and not afraid to go after your food. We kept our cooler in the car after dark, and it worked perfectly.

There is a lot of wildlife at China Camp State Park. If you need quiet while you sleep, bring earplugs. There are plenty of coyote sounds, and bird sounds, in the middle of the night.

You can learn more at FriendsOfChinaCamp.org. If camping isn’t your thing, and you are local, you can always day trip to China Camp and enjoy the hiking trails, beach, and museum!
