This week was all about handbags, spring nail polish, and stocking up on basics for spring such as jeans. This is also the perfect time to find that special gift for mom. Mother’s Day is fast approaching! Check out my post filled with Mother’s Day gift ideas.

I absolutely adore these beautiful gemstone bracelets. They are made by a local jewelry designer here in San Jose, California. All of her bracelets are priced under $50, making them a special yet affordable gift. I highly recommend purchasing three. The ideal bracelet stack is three bracelets. Since it is the beginning of short sleeve season, Mom will love these bracelets because she can show them off on her arm! Love that!

National Denim Day 2022

It is National Denim Day 2022, and this is a national, fashion-related day, which is important to stop and think about. Back in 1998, an Italian court overturned an assault conviction because the victim had worn tight jeans. This is the classic “blame the victim” strategy we have been hearing for centuries. It doesn’t matter what you are wearing, and if you are outside accidently without anything on, then it still doesn’t matter. No-one has the right to touch you, or worse. Without consent, it is a crime.

Therefore, today is the day to rock those jeans! You don’t have to wear tight ones, not everyone owns tight jeans nor has the ability to withstand tight jeans all day. I know I don’t! My jeans are loose! So, put on your favorite pair of jeans, loose or tight, or in-between, and wear them with pride all day long to help raise awareness to this issue.

Despite stemming from a court ruling in 1998, this is a problem we still deal with now, in 2022. This is why National Denim Day is important. We need to continue to raise awareness to this issue and change the mindset of our population. It doesn’t matter what you wear, no-one has the right to touch you. Case closed.

Spring street sneakers and colored denim

The puff sleeve trend is giving me life! I absolutely love finding cute tee’s which are comfortable and fashionable to pair with jeans and shorts. This trend has been going on for a few years now, as you know, and I love how it turns a basic tee into an interesting top which helps make an outfit go from a basic tee and jeans to actual street style. Love!

Since I am still taking care of my foot injury, sneakers are my go-to shoe of the moment. If puff sleeves weren’t a thing right now, I would have a much harder time creating outfits paired with sneakers. The puff sleeves on this tee elevate my outfit so that it isn’t just a boring tee and a pair of jeans, it’s an actual lewk! haha

The colored denim trend is also adding some spice this year since it is a fun way to move away from a regular pair of jeans. While jeans are a mainstay in everyone’s wardrobe, it is nice to have a casual alternative which is comfortable and durable, and on trend! Have you delved into the colored denim trend this year?

I wore this look to go shopping the other day at Santana Row and enjoy lunch at The Yard House. It was comfortable and my foot was happy being in a shoe with proper arch support. I am getting used to wearing sneakers and arch support all the time now, it might be hard to go back to other types of shoes when I am healed! Perhaps I should just live in sneakers now . . .
