Krakl by Duri Cosmetics makes the cracked nail polish trend new again

Cracked nail polish was a huge trend for nail art fanatics about a decade ago. In 2008 the trend started to creep back onto store shelves and onto the fingertips of daring nail art enthusiasts everywhere. By 2011 the trend has exploded into the most popular form of nail art for the season.

One of the big problems with many brands of cracked nail polish is that they do not always go on smoothly or crack in a very attractive fashion. Thankfully Duri Cosmetics has a line of cracked nail polish called, “Krakl” which goes on smoothly leaving a slight texture on the nail. Krakl also cracks in an attractive pattern and allows for the bottom coat to shine through in an appropriate manner.

In order to make sure Krakl is applied correctly, it is important to make sure the bottom base is completely dry before applying Krakl. You have the option of having wide cracks or thin cracks. For thin cracks, which give you more cracks, apply the Krakl coat in one thin layer. For wider cracks, Krakl can be applied in a thicker coat. For long lasting results, it is best to use a top coat.

Krakl is available in four colors, white, black, bright pink and classic red. For an understated look, it is best to pick an undercoat that is a few shades lighter than the Krakl coat. If you are looking for a bold “notice me” look, it is best to use a contrasting shade as the bottom coat such as hot pink under black or black under white.

Twisted Silver Geometry Earrings are a sassy way to get noticed this summer

Twisted Silver’s Geometry Earrings arrived today at Twisted-Silver.com and they will make a big splash for summer. The large dangle style earrings offer geometrical design in mis-matched yet matching pair of bold earrings that work perfectly with several of this summer’s hot trends right off the runways.

Two of the big trends from the Milan, Paris and New York runways were bold jewelry and the 1980’s. In the 1980’s it was incredibly fashionable to wear two different earrings. This time around the 1980’s trend is slightly softer making the Geometry Earrings the perfect accessory for a 1980’s inspired outfit. The earrings fit perfectly into the theme of the 80’s since they match. . .yet they don’t match.

These bold earrings can easily be paired with an off the shoulder dress or top. They are also perfect for any bright colored garment; adding personality without competing with the colors. The Geometry Earrings from twisted Silver are priced at $40 and can be found starting June 20, 2011 at twisted-silver.com

Maxi Dresses for summer are the new go-to wardrobe item

Maxi dresses were shown by designers for spring/summer 2011 in Milan, Paris and New York as part of the boho-chic trend and also as a stand-alone trend for the warm weather months. The maxi dresses were shown in simple, sleek solid colors as well as with complicated patterns and flowing fabrics such as on Roberto Cavalli’s runway. The maxi dress or skirt styles which have gone from the runway into reality are a combination of everything designers imagined for the season.

The one rule for the maxi dress this season is that there is no rule! Maxi dresses and skirts are shown in slim styles which hug the body from the waist down to the ankles, as well as gathered, pleated and flowing; reminiscent of the hippie movement from the late 1960’s and 1970’s.

Maxi dresses are easy to wear and offer a breezy way to stay cool in the warm summer months. The one challenge a Fashionista may have with maxi dresses or skirts is that the length is hard to pull off when one is petite.

For the 5’5” and up set, maxi skirts and dresses are easy to wear and can elongate one’s silhouette. For those of us who are 5’4” and under, the ankle length can make us short and stubby. There is a solution for petite women who would like to rock the maxi trend; slim silhouettes. The slimmer silhouettes work better than the fuller skirts when one is less than 5’4”, making the maxi trend accessible for those of us who are, shall we say, challenged in the height department?
