I have to admit, I am one of those eyebrow victims of the mid to late 1990’s. It was fashionable at that time to have your eyebrows waxed monthly into a thin line. I never went as thin as some women did; just thinner than natural. 😉 Sadly, when the trend ended and everyone went back to full eyebrows, my brows never grew back. So, in order to create an eyebrow which looks more “en vogue,” I need an eybrow shaping pencil!

Dolce & Gabbana’s new “The Brow Liner” eyebrow shaping pencil is exactly what my eyebrows needed. The pencil has an unique shape which allows me to fill in my eyebrows without making a mistake. In addition to a pencil, the opposite end of the “The Brow Liner” features a mascara-like brush which allows me to shape my eyebrows into the perfect arch. Love that!

Having both the pencil and brush on one stick makes it easy to create eyebrows in one step; and it is handy for traveling! The color is great and does not smudge during the day. At the end of the night, all I need to do it remove it with make-up remover. My eyebrows look as vibrant at night as they did in the early morning when I first applied Dolce & Gabbana’s “The Brow Liner.”

I am using Dolce & Gabbana “The Brow Liner” eyebrow shaping pencil in “chestnut” which is the perfect color for my eyebrows. The eyebrow shaping pencil also comes in a variety of colors, is priced at $45, and can be found online here.

Spring 2014 color trends: pastels

As we move into spring 2014, the color story for the warm weather season is changing. After several years of bright hues and neon colors, Fashionistas on the street are favoring shades of pastels over the bright, neon and vibrant hues many designers showed for spring 2014 on their runways. While store shelves are stocked with bright colors and neon hues, the pastel color palette is being snapped up faster than you can say “mint green.”

Spring 2014 has several color palettes from the runways. Designers in New York favored bright colors and medium hues while designer in Paris and Milan played with pastels and neons. Despite the brights, consumers seem to be gravitating towards pastels, signaling a trend away from neon brights and back towards light colors. Of course, when we move from spring into summer, the brighter hues and neon colors may make a resurgence.

The pastel hues for spring 2014 which are popular on the street include mint green, pale yellow, baby pink, and baby blue. Pastel hues are being mixed together, not color blocked, and also being paired with light neutral hues such as beige or white. As easy way to wear pastels this season, without investing in an entire new wardrobe, is to add a handbag or pair of shoes to your closet. Accessories make wearing the pastel easy and you don’t have to worry about clothing in a light color adding weight or not working with other pieces in your closet which may be bright or neon hued. In this color transition, you can easily pair a neon hue with a pastel color as I did in this post. If you do this, make sure you are only playing with one pastel and one bright color, too many colors and the whole thing can go wrong!

Neutral ensembles are also on trend this spring 2014 season. So, if you plan to wear the pastel trend through accessories, you can keep your clothing neutral and update the look with one pastel handbag! Love that!

Here are a few fabulous pastel pieces I found around the web. I assembled them into the shopping widget below. I hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

I absolutely adore pastels in the spring season. There is something about pastels which tells the world the cold weather is over and sunny days are here. One of my favorite all-time pastel hues is mint green. I love pairing mint green with white since white is such a crisp and clean color. I feel like it is the perfect neutral hue to brighten up mint green and make it pop.

This could be why I love the Ippolita Wonderland set I am wearing with this outfit. The mint green and white quartz set in sterling silver offers a crisp feel in warm weather. Love that! To tie everything together, I love this watch from my new favorite online boutique TrendCY. The white strap helps make the mint green glow and the loose fit will be perfect for the warm weather in spring, and the hot temperatures of the summer months. I also love the watch in white since it will match everything I wear in spring and summer!

Do you have a favorite pastel hue this season? What is your favorite neutral hue to set it off?
