Gucci Black Gold nail polish review

gucci black gold nail polish

I have been admiring Gucci’s beauty products from afar for quite some time now. When I spotted Black Gold at the Gucci beauty counter, I decided I had to try it. After all, it is an unusual color, and I love unusual nail polish colors!

Gucci Black Gold nail polish is a dark, sparkling black with heavy gold sparkles. It can also look chocolate brown at times. It has a little bit of a disco flair to it. The color is also a neutral, making it easy to wear on a daily basis.

I tested out Gucci Black Gold nail polish with one base coat and two coats of color; no top coat. The nail polish was strong; it last ed a full seven days! The only reason I took it off was because my nails had started to grow, and I don’t like seeing growth at the bottom of my nail-beds.

I definitely want to test out more nail polish colors from Gucci. They are fresh hues, and the polish is long lasting. Love that!

Squiggle pumps and fringe

Squiggle squiggle! From the moment I laid my eyes on these Christian Louboutin squiggle pumps, I knew I needed them in my life. They are basic black, peep-toe pumps with a twist! Or should I say “squiggle.” 😉 I was excited to have a recent girl’s night out with my friends where I could wear these shoes and wiggle the evening away!

To complete the look, because sometimes I dress from the shoes up, I decided to wear my new BCBG fringe skirt. I purchased this skirt to wear in New York next month for fashion week, but decided it needed to be worn ahead of time in honor of the Christian Louboutin Squiggle pumps and grabbing sushi with my friends. What other occasion do I have to wear a fringe skirt? As a Mother of three, I don’t go out at night too often, so when I have the chance, I dress up!

I’m excited to wear this skirt again in New York next month and I am eagerly looking for another occasion to wear these squiggle pumps. Unfortunately they will not go to New York with me. I need shoes with traction in order to survive the snow and ice on the ground back east!

This will be my go-to look for spring when I head out to dinner with my hubby and/or go out at night! What is your current go-to, night on the town outfit?

Spring 2015 wish list

Spring 2015 is on the horizon which means this is the perfect time to shop for the upcoming warm weather season! As styles shift towards a 1970’s vintage vibe, I find myself drawn towards accessories and make-up; perhaps because this is quickest way to update one’s wardrobe!

Since I already own flares and trouser jeans, I feel like my casual wardrobe can transition into the new season. What I really need are shoes, a handbag or two, and rose hued make-up! (Beauty spoiler: Rose scents and hues are hot for the spring season!) I also want to find a few knee length a-line skirts with a true 1970’s vintage look. I may also look for one of DVF’s famous wrap dresses to add to my wardrobe. After all, what screams 1970’s more than DVF’s iconic wrap dress!

Although the accessories on my wish list are not all a nod towards the 1970’s, they are on trend for the season and would work with my current wardrobe.

Also on my radar. Have you heard of Charlotte Tilsbury Beach Sticks, pictured above? They sound amazing. Charlotte Tilsbury’s Beach Sticks can be used on both your lips and cheeks. They offer a dewy, beach look. Definitely on my wish list! You can see a demonstration video here.

What is on your radar and wish list for the spring 2015 season?
