Essie Oh Behave! nail polish review

nail polish c/o Essie Oh Behave! nail polish review

It is no secret that nudes, pink, and white hues are hotter then hot for the upcoming spring season. So when Essie released Oh Behave! as part of their winter 2017 nail polish collection, it was perfection in a bottle,

Essie Oh Behave! nail polish is the perfect pink for transitioning from winter into spring. The medium pink color has golden undertones, which adds sparkle and warmth to this edgy yet sweet hue. Love that!

The month of January is all about staying warm, and freshening up our wardrobes as we watch the spring collections roll into stores. While a beautiful sundress for spring looks inviting in a store window, it cannot actually be worn in the cold month of January, or in February; and you would be hard-pressed to wear it in March unless you have a spring break vacation planned. The only real way to enjoy spring during the cold winter months is wear it in our makeup!

Oh Behave! by Essie is perfect for spicing up a cold, grey winter day. It has just the right amount of sparkle, and the pink is perfectly on trend for now, and into the spring season. This is a great transition nail polish! Love!

I tested out Essie Oh Behave! nail polish with one base coat, and two coats of color. I cleaned my house without gloves, worked out at the gym quite a few times, and rearranged some things in the garage; and guess what, no chips for one week! It is like Teflon on my nails. Love!

Essie Oh Behave! nail polish will be my go-to nail polish as we transition from winter into spring. It is the perfect color to wear now; and it fits right into the upcoming spring trends.

You can find Essie Oh Behave! nail polish from the winter collection in stock online here.

How to rewear holiday attire after the holidays

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / Chanel spring lipstick / Gap turtleneck (super soft!!!) / moto jacket c/o Tart Collections (also worn here) / Topshop sparkles skirt (also worn here) / watch c/o Daniel Wellington / Chanel spring nail polish / Givenchy handbag / Louise et Cie shoes (sold out, also love this pair)

So raise your hand if you watch “Real Housewives of Atlanta?” The series is airing right now, so lately I have been in the mood to twirl on! If you watch the show, you know Kenya gets her twirl on, and this holiday skirt is ideal for twirling away!

I am always wondering how to rewear holiday attire after the holidays. This skirt was my favorite holiday piece this season. I wore it to a holiday party at a friends house, the JLSJ Sustainer holiday party, and during the day on Christmas Eve. In order to keep on twirling, I decided to find a way to rewear my holiday skirt after the last of the Christmas tinsel was thrown in the trash bin.

This moto jacket from Bay Area brand Tart Collections is my current favorite on days when the temperatures hover in the high 50’s and 60’s. I decided it would be fun to pair it with my sparkling green holiday skirt.

In December, I met my friend Laura from Have Need Want for brunch in Capitola. I decided to wear this outfit after brunch for a brief stroll downtown where we visited a cute interior design shop that was sadly closing down. Since we are bloggers, we had to stop and snap pictures of our outfits!

Laura suggested I twirl, so I decided to channel Kenya and get my twirl on! Since she is “Gone with the Wind Fabulous,” I straightened up my posture, ignored the fact that we were on a busy street, and I twirled! Oh my, it was so much fun! I hope you enjoy these twirling photos. The skirt does twirl well!

So if you have a holiday skirt, dress, or pants, top it off with a casual shirt and edgy jacket. It will make a special occasion piece ready to wear during the day, everyday! If you have a sparkling holiday top, simply pair it with jeans and boots; and voila! Instant daytime outfit. Love that!

Thanks for stopping by, and keep on twirling!

XOXO

Happy New Year 2017!

Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy New Year!

shoes / clutch ( on major sale!)

2016 was quite a year wasn’t it! There were really great things that happened, and really sad, unfortunate events which occurred.

So many well-loved celebrities that made artistic contributions to our cultural society, resulting in significant impacts over the years, were lost in 2016.

Some people loved the results of our Presidential election, others thought the world would end.

Our fight for a cleaner, more sustainable environment suffered some losses, but also gained some important wins.

That was 2016 in a nutshell.

2017 will be a very different year. As with any year, some will love it, others will count down the seconds to 2018, Whatever your beliefs, or expectations for the year, let’s just say “Cheers!”

Now, this is a fashion, style, and beauty blog. So let’s chat about the fun stuff!!

In 2016 I had a few resolutions. I only shared one on the blog; which was to lose fifteen pounds and workout more. I can proudly say I lost ten of those pounds, but I didn’t work out more; I worked out less. I lost the weight over the summer when I had the time to get myself to the gym five days per week. Sigh.

My other resolution, which I never shared on the blog, was to not leave all my tax day prep for the week before my taxes are due! Yes, I am one of those last minute people who is frantically sending off her taxes, and that check, less then five days before it is due. It has only caused a few small heart-attacks. I am proud to say I did it! I am prepared to file my taxes right now, today! All I need to do, is to wait for my 1099’s and W2. Then voila! I can file them early! Do a little dance!!

Now, let’s talk about 2017.  Here are my 2017 New Year resolutions!

  1. Lose ten pounds through diet and exercise
  2. Schedule four gym sessions per week, and stick to it!
  3. Switch from a sticker based rewards system for my kids, to a cash allowance based system integrated with the chore chart.
  4. Eat less sugar, eat more vegetables

Well, that is all I can think of right now. Which resolution’s worked for you in 2016? What are your new resolutions for 2017?

Have a Happy New Year!
