Fall is here! This means it is time to start getting cozy and comfy before heading upstairs for some beauty sleep. I always end my evenings with a warm cup of tea, cozied up in fuzzy slippers, and with my nighttime beauty routine in check.

Before Colleen Rothschild sent me her fabulous new Retinol Supreme Night Oil, I was using a thick night cream on my face after washing it at the end of the day. Since my skin is prone to acne, using a heavy cream at night is considered “living on the edge.” Seriously, can we say “encouraging a break-out!?”

Colleen Rothschild’s new Retinol Supreme Night Oil is the perfect solution for my skin; it’s so lightweight! After I wash my face, I can apply a few drops of it to my face and neck; and voila! My skin enjoys “stabilized retinol” overnight which encourages healthy skin renewal. In addition to the benefits of retinol on skin renewal, this product has vitamin C which helps combat environmental toxins on the skin. There are also nine plant based essential oils in Colleen Rothschild’s Retinol Supreme Night Oil which help replenish moisture in the skin, as well as help to prevent skin irritation. Love that!

The fall season is the perfect time to use a retinol based  product for skin renewal. When using retinol, skin becomes more sensitive to UVA and UVB rays, so wearing suncreen when heading outside is a must. Since there is less time in the sun during the fall season, this helps lessen sun exposure.

Autumn is the perfect time to rejuvenate after a summer spent in the sun. It is also a great time to enjoy the cooler weather, and cozy up with some warm tea and fuzzy slippers while our skin is replenished overnight!

One of my favorite runways to see when I attend New York Fashion Week is the Academy of Art University’s collections. When I was a student at the University of San Francisco, we socialized with the kids from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, so I have always felt a tie to the school. As one of the most world renowned art schools, I am also proud to say it is located right here in the Bay Area. I love seeing the fresh take on fashion that students from the University produce. They are the future of the fashion industry. Seeing their show, is getting a glimpse into the future of what emerging designers will create for us to wear.

For the spring 2018, and fall 2018 seasons, the Academy of Art University showcased ten emerging designers from both the BFA and MFA programs. The designers took their inspiration from the world around them; including San Francisco’s own landscape.

The designers from the Academy of Art University who showed at New York Fashion Week included; Hailun Zhou, Eden Slzin, Dina Marie Lam, Carlos Rodriguez, Rheanna Oliver-Palanca, Saya Shen, Joanna Jadallah, Cana Klebanoff, Ryan Yu, and Jelly Shan.

“Every year our designers have shown an amazing showcase of their talent and this year is no exception. This group has crafted each collection, and every piece within their collection has its own unique identity,” comments Jayne Foster, Graduate Director of Fashion. “They have stayed true to their vision and pushed their creative process into collections that show exploration of silhouette and textile techniques. These are the designers who will inspire and lead the next generation of new creatives. It has been a privilege to work with them.”

While the spring 2018, and fall 2018 collections offer an artistic take on fashion, they do reflect what we see trending in the world of fashion for the upcoming year. Hot trends for 2018, spotted on the Academy of Art’s runway include; black/white, geometric silhouettes, silver/metallic, knits, prints, suiting, and the emergence of one piece dressing for men.

Casual fall blues

wearing: blue dangle earrings c/o SugarFix by BaubleBar / Chanel lipstick / blue ruffle sleeve top (last seen here) / vintage Prada belt (also love this one) / boyfriend jeans (sold out, similar pair here) / Chloe bag / JINsoon fall nail polish / silver statement ring / black leather and rose gold watch / velvet booties (so comfy!)

We finally got some fall weather! This means I can wear jeans without melting into the floor! I originally bought this top, and these velvet booties, to wear at fashion week earlier in the month. The top was super comfortable, and turned out to be great for traveling. It does not wrinkle at all! I wore it tucked into my skirt in New York, and it was also packed into my carry-on suitcase. Nothing made it wrinkle. When I pulled it out of my suitcase to unpack once I got home from the Big Apple, it looked like it had just been pressed. Perfection!

This top had turned out to be really comfortable. Since it doesn’t wrinkle, I can tuck in it, then untuck it, and not have to worry about how it will look. The fabric is comfortable, it is machine washable, and looks cute with a skirt or with jeans. Love that! It is definitely my favorite top of the season!

These booties are super comfortable too. I wore them in New York for fashion week and they were really easy to stand and walk in. They are proving to be practical, and easy to wear here at home too. Since they are navy, they give my whole look a tonal blue look. I love shades of blue!

We need to talk about these earrings for just one minute. They are extremely lightweight, and so much fun! BaubleBar has created a special collection, at amazing prices, for Target this season. This collection is SugarFix by BaubleBar. it is filled with so many fun jewelry pieces to spice up any wardrobe. Every time I wear these earrings people compliment them. They are so much fun! If you are looking for some fabulous baubles at fabulous prices, check out SugarFix by BaubleBar! You can find the collection online here.

Which colors are you drawn to this season?

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO
