The cooler weather is finally starting to arrive! This means we all need a fabulous winter coat! When I shop for my winter coat, I always look for something which is both fabulous and classic. My coat needs to integrate seamlessly into my wardrobe without clashing. Nothing is more frustrating then reaching for a coat on a cold winter day, and it looks horrible with your outfit!

This is what I love about Sosken Studios coats, they are all fabulous, and timeless. Their silhouettes work well with both casual, and dressier ensembles. This is a coat I can reach for anytime I am cold without being concerned as to whether or not it will work with my outfit. It will definitely work with my outfit! Love that!

Londontown has a beautiful new nail polish collection for the fall/winter 2017 season! The Londontown fall 2017 collection, named “Hyde Park” offers the seasons hottest colors in nail polish. There are four fabulous hues for the autumn season; “Star Moss” which is a light military green, “Bell Flower” which is a bluish-pink, “Black Thorn” which is a sparkling midnight blue/purple, and “Silver Birch” which is a pale blue. Love these colors!

How pretty is Londontown Bell Flower! This is a sassy yet sweet pink hue which is perfect for the fall/winter season. I love the grown up, pinkish-lilac hue of Bell Flower. This is a great color for everyday wear during the fall season!

Londontown Black Thorn is an edgy hue for the fall 2017 season. I love the sparkling midnight blue/purple hue of this color. This is a great color for evenings, or daytime. It is definitely my favorite hue! I look forward to wearing Black Thorn often this season.

Last minute pirate costume for Halloween

It’s entirely possible my kids really loved the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie this summer. So much so, that they decided our whole family would dress up as pirates for Halloween; except for my teenager who is going to be a Pusheen.

This is the first time we have all coordinated our costumes; minus my teenager. It’s been really fun putting pirate costumes together, so much so that I had to make a last minute pirate costume for myself! I went to Affordable Treasures in Los Gatos and picked up this hat, these pants, and this sword. If you’re interested in dressing as a last minute pirate too, I linked to the pants above, and a similar sword, and similar hat.

A pirate costume is really easy to make. You can use any black or stripe pants you might already own, black boots, a black tee (which I’m sure you own), gold hoops earrings (if you don’t own a pair-grab this pair, they are so lightweight and amazing!), and a black vest. My vest is from last year but I managed to find it online here. The only “big ticket” item you need to complete the look is that hat. The sword is really inexpensive.

My cute little nine-year-old son took these photos. He did a pretty good job! Instead of “say cheese!” he kept saying “say arrrrrrrrrh!” while he was snapping the photos. I think you can see the amusement in my face. haha
