Spring 2018 handbag trends are splashed all over store shelves; and already walking down the street. There are quite a few  trends to watch this year, but the two biggest trends in handbags for the spring 2018 season are white handbags, and brightly colored handbags. This contrast in handbag colors offers something for everyone. Neutral taste? Go white. Make a statement? Go bright!

Brightly colored handbags are so much fun this spring season! All the colors of the rainbow are hot, and on trend. You can go with a rainbow bright hue, or a sweet candy shade. Brightly colored handbags for spring can be found in both solid hues, and color blocked styles. You can’t go wrong with color this season! Love!

If you have a bright handbag in your closet from a previous season, pull it out, and rock it this spring. If not, this is a great time to invest in a fabulous handbag, in your favorite color! There is no right or wrong color this season; all shades of the rainbow are in.

When shopping for a bright bag, I highly recommend investing in one which is a classic IT bag style such as the Balenciaga City Tote, the Loewe Puzzle bag, or the Gucci Marmont. This way, when the season passes by, you can still rock your bag since it’s a classic. If you decide you don’t to keep it after this season, classic styles are easier to resell on consignment; and will fetch a higher price then trendier styles. I’m all about the investment bag!

This spring 2018 season I plan to re-wear my purple Chanel bag from who knows how many years ago; plus my blue Balenciaga City Tote from 2009, and my red JW Anderson Pierce bag from last year. Of course, I might have to add something to my collection this year!  I could use a yellow, green, pink, or orange bag! Right?!

Spring has sprung! Of course, as we transition from 40 degree winter weather, into our current daily highs of spring-like 75 degrees, our wardrobes need to transition too. It can be challenging to create an outfit which can easily flow between these extreme temperature swings, thankfully, the athleisure trend is an easy way to transition between seasons.

As you know, the athleisure trend is huge! The more popular athleisure looks become, the more variety we are all looking for while putting together our daily looks. I love this trend so much because it is comfortable, practical, and machine washable! haha Seriously though, who has time for running to the dry cleaners every week?

Athleisure styles are perfect for daily life, plus they are ideal for transitioning between seasons. I love being able to wear a casual dress with street sneakers (so very athleisure!) and also to be able to flow from 45 degree mornings into 75 degree afternoons. With the addition of this extremely soft and comfortable moto jacket by JD Williams, I can easily flow from winter mornings, to spring afternoons. Love that!

I spotted this dress on the JD Williams website. Instantly I could tell it would be something I could easily wear in the winter, and the upcoming spring season. Plus, it’s blue! You know that is my favorite color! It’s super comfy, and easy to pair with edgy street sneakers. I love silver footwear. Last fall I wore silver boots all the time; even at fashion week! So silver sneakers are a natural addition to my wardrobe. They add a bit of glam to athleisure looks. I’m all about a touch of glam in my daily looks!

This was my outfit a few days ago when I ran errands with the kids, tooks the kids to some of thier activities, and was on the go. It was super comfortable, and when the weather warmed up, I removed the jacket and felt perfectly fine. This dress can also be amped up for non-athleisure looks with the addition of booties, loafer pumps, or flats. It’s really versatile.

National Wear Red Day | Go Red for Women

Happy National Wear Red Day! This is an incredible movement to help raise awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Go Red for Women is a campaign by The American Heart Association, and it is sponsored by Macy’s. The campaign calls attention to the fact that cardiovascular disease is so prevalent among women; yet many don’t know it. A woman dies every 80 seconds from heart-related illnesses, yet 80 percent of those deaths are preventable. The American Heart Association’s mission is to reduce deaths, and disabilities, from cardiovascular diseases with education and research that benefits everyone.

I hope you will join me in the fight against heart disease and stroke by wearing red today, and hopefully purchasing a red dress awareness pin from a Macy’s store. The pins are shaped like a red dress, and cost only $3. They are sold in pairs, so for $3, you have a pin for yourself, and one for your BFF! Love that!
