Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2020 NYFW

New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and you might be wondering why I am not covering the shows on my Instagram account like I usually do. Well, this season I have to watch the shows from home. It was with great sadness that I had to decline my invitations to shows I normally attend every season. Rebecca Minkoff was no different.

Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favorite all-time designers. I own so many of her handbags, shoes, and articles of clothing. Her collections are always urban, chic, fashion-forward, on trend, fresh, and easy to incorporate into any wardrobe. Her collections always hit all the buttons! Plus, I find her quality to be well above her price point, making any purchase more than worthwhile. Plus, anything with her name on it has excellent resale value. So, if I stop wearing something and want to consign it, I will get a good return on my investment. Love that!

For the February 2020 New York Fashion Week season, Rebecca Minkoff stuck with her see-now, buy-now, presentation format which has been working really well for her, as well as so many other New York designers. As fashion week evolves, and it’s purpose changes with the onset of social media, changing ways people absorb media, and the desire to shop the runway right away by consumers, this format is proving to be both lucrative, and ideal for consumers. Love!

The spring 2020 season is offering us vivid colors. We are seeing shades of blue, bright and pale pink, as well as a fiery color palette which includes reds, oranges, and yellows. It is an uplifting color season, and Rebecca Minkoff chose the ideal colors for a happier mood this warm weather season.

In addition to brighter hues, spring 2020 is bringing us small floral patterns, and a little bit of motorcycle chic in the form of studs, moto jackets, and chunky soles on soles.

Spring 2020 is also offering us some vintage vibes from both the 1980’s and the 1990’s. We are seeing exaggerated sleeves, power suiting, and chicer versions of grunge items; minus the flannel and destroyed fabrics.

Rebecca Minkoff’s collection for spring 2020 at NYFW hits all these buttons! You cannot go wrong with anything from her spring 2020. Of course, you know I have to fill you in on her fabulous handbag collection!

I’m really excited about the spring 2020 trends in handbags. I love the vintage feel of the baguette silhouette, square mini-bags, and also the natural look of woven and raffia bags. In addition, buckets are getting a makeover in new silhouettes and fabrications. Of course, Rebecca Minkoff is always on point when it comes to handbags! All her bags hit one or more of the trends. Look for fun colors, metallics, natural fabrications, and new silhouettes. I have my eye on her red baguette for spring. It might get added to my collection!

Twirling from winter into spring

cold spring outfitswinter into spring outfit ideas

wearing: silver and white earrings / lipstick / black 3/4 sleeve tee (old, similar here)  / blue scarf / spring nail polish / Gucci bag / pleated skirt (under $100) / black suede knee boots /

OK, so I didn’t’ get a lot of twirling photos, but in the first one, you can sort-of see me twirling into spring right?? Seriously, this skirt is fun to twirl in, and it has been so versatile this winter season. It is also a piece which can go from winter into spring. For spring, all I need to do is lighten up my top, and slip into sandals or slides; and voila! It will be perfect in the spring season, love that!

The weather this month has been swinging in all directions. We have one day with 30-50 degree temps, then the next will day will be 50-70 degrees! It’s so crazy! I wore this outfit on a day when temperatures reached the high 60’s, and it felt so nice outside! I paired my favorite winter skirt with a 3/4 sleeve tee I had in my closet from last year. To fend off the morning chill, I wore this blue scarf; which I removed later on in the day when it warmed up. It is a great winter into spring outfit. Love!

To get into the spring spirit, my daughter snapped these photos in front of a living wall at Valley Fair mall. It was just starting to get a few flowers. I cannot wait to see how pretty it gets in the spring season!

The groundhog predicted an early spring a few days ago, and I know he is right! We are already getting tree blossoms, and a few bushes in my yard are starting to bloom. I have had enough of cold weather, and I am definitely ready for the warmer, spring season!

winter into spring street style

My winter street style and a cross body phone case

wearing: large gold hoops (under $100!) / lipstick / black knit turtleneck / long winter coat (under $200!) / cross body phone case (read about the trend here) / black belt / skinny jeans / spring nail polish / western style high heel boots /

I recently met my friend Dawn for brunch in downtown Los Gatos, and it was freeeee-eeeeeeezing outside! I bundled up in this warm, winter coat and threw it over my go-to knit turtleneck, and this soft, cozy pair of jeans. It worked out really well by keeping me warm!

It was also the first time I wore my new Gucci phone case, which was fun, since it is a hot handbag this year. You know I love to rock the new handbag trends! I found the cross body didn’t feel right over my coat. It would also have been clumsy to have to take off the bag if I wanted to remove my coat. So, I wore the bag underneath my coat; which is actually a great way to fend off pick-pocketers when walking around the city. Of course, I was in Los Gatos, not a big pick-pocket location, but still a good habit to keep up!

We ate at Southern Kitchen, which is on East Main St. in downtown Los Gatos. It’s a great place to grab brunch, or lunch, if you are in the area. We have met there are few times already for brunch! Yumm!!
