Chanel nail polish spring 2021 take two! The Act II beauty collection for spring 2021 has arrived. This collection has a traditional Chanel theme; pearls. The beauty collection contains eye make-up, nail polish, several lipsticks, powder, and glow sticks. I purchased the eye quad, one of the rouge coco flash hues, and of course, the Perles et Eclats de Chanel nail polish collection.

The two nail polish hues from the Perles et Eclats de Chanel beauty collection are fabulous alternatives to the Chanel spring 2021 nail polish collection. If the spring nail polish hues were too bold for you, these colors are more feminine, subdue, and traditional for the spring 2021 season.

Chanel Perle Blanche is a sparkling pinkish-white nail polish on the verge of being sheer. This soft color offers a barely-there look which is ideal in the warmer months. I love this color for travel when I would like to ensure my nail polish plays well with everything in my suitcase. High hopes for travel this summer! It will also be a fabulous nail polish shade for toes during sandal season, as it won’t compete with any shoe color. Love that!

If you prefer darker nail polish hues, Chanel Perle Burgundy nail polish is also a metallic polish, in a much darker shade. This purplish-burgundy is beautiful. I am not sure I have the right adjectives to express how pretty this color is out of the bottle, and on the nail. I am in love! Chanel Perle Burgundy nail polish has purple undertones and looks more berry than burgundy. The sparkles add dimension too. This is an incredible color to wear now, and as we transition from winter into spring. Love!

I love the classic and feminine vibe of the Perles et Eclats de Chanel collection for spring 2021. It is a nice compliment to the spring 2021 collection which offers an edgier and more bold vibe. This collection gives us choices depending on our moods this spring. Is it a bold day? Is it a quiet day? We have a nail color to suit our moods. Love that!

BAF Weekly IT List

winter street style trends

BAF Weekly IT List from top left: gemstone bead bracelet (only $25!!) / Loewe basket bag (love this bag!) / spring nail polish / small black bag (IT bag under $300) / grey boat sneakers (love mine! Under $100) / combat boots (super comfy) / grey satchel (hot IT bag) / distressed jeans (under $50) /

Are you loving the year of the IT bag yet? I know I am! I love the resurgence of classic IT bags such as the Coach Swinger, and the Chloe Marcie. It’s also fun to see all the current modern IT bags from Bottega Venetta, Givenchy, and more. Also, have you seen the Prada Cleo yet? This bag took inspiration from Prada’s IT bag line-up in the 1990s and added a modern twist in order to become the ultimate IT bag for 2021. Check out my review here.

OK, let’s get to the IT list! There are three, piping hot handbags right now; this cute little basket bag from Loewe, the Coach Swinger which is reasonably priced under $300, and the destined to be classic Antigona Soft by Givenchy. Have you snapped one up yet?

Combat boots are proving to be the hottest shoe style of the moment. They were hotter than hot during the fall and winter seasons. Now, the style is showing it will carry well into spring. You can pair them with jeans and a tee as the weather warms up, and throw your new basket bag on your arm for a little spring flair. Love!

Too cold to wear anything spring? No problem! Spring nail polish is the top selling item right now, and it’s not a surprise. This fabulous spring hue from Chanel sparkles, and it offers a fun, cheery color for the warm weather season. It also brightens up a cold and dreary, winter day. Are your nails saying “spring!” yet?

Bracelets stacks are back, and these gemstone bracelets from a local designer are hot. At $25 each, you can buy more than one and create a fabulous stack. Or, you can grab one and enhance a current stack from your jewelry box. Either way, the price is right to indulge.

These distressed jeans are priced right, fit well, and offer a great everyday look. I love my pair! Snap up a pair before they are gone!

Not packed for NYFW aka American Collections Calendar take two

You might be looking at the title of this post and asking, what in the world??? Yes, I said the same thing when I heard that New York Fashion Week, or should I say the CFDA, had renamed their calendar to the “American Collections Calendar.” Since many designers who show at New York Fashion Week actually come from various parts of the United States, the CFDA decided to rebrand the agenda and name the schedule of runway shows/presentations the “American Collections Calendar.” After all, designers no longer show all together, in one compact week. They show before and after the designated week; and then they trickle into the following month. This makes the schedule less of a week, and more of a season.

I have mixed feelings about the new name. The name “New York Fashion Week” doesn’t need to be literal. It has a historical vibe, and blends well with the other fashion runway events around the world; most of which use the (city name + fashion week) formula. It appears, for now, the event is still referred to as New York Fashion Week, but the schedule has taken a name change to be more inclusive to designers from throughout the United States, as well as those who show outside the traditional NYFW dates.

The American Collections Calendar shows designer shows scheduled February 2, 2021 through April 15, 2021. The bulk of the shows, which would traditionally be referred to as part of New York Fashion Week, will occur on February 15, 2021 through February 17, 2021. Since the shows are predominantly virtual this season, they have been consolidated into three days instead of the usual six or seven day calendar. That being said, there are a handful of shows a few days before and after those three, jam-packed days.

The fall/winter 2021 collections will be shown mostly virtually again this season, with the hopes of returning to more of an in-person, normal event in September 2021. This means the shows will, once again, be more accessible to fashion fans everywhere since they can be viewed online. Although many designers are sending out invitations for their virtual runway shows, the shows can still be viewed  Runway360. You can watch along with me again this year! Love that!

I will do my best to cover the virtual events this season, and bring you the best trends from the runways, and the fall/winter 2021 color trends, to look forward to in the autumn season. You can join me on Instagram for my runway stories, and also read about the runways here on the blog at the end of the week. Enjoy the American Collections Calendar!
