fall street style trends

BAF Weekly IT List from top left: pouch clutch (huge IT bag, spotted all over the NYFW streets!) / G buckle belt (new IT belt for fall) / Dior fall nail polish / Chanel fall nail polish / small convertible bag (priced under $300) / green pleated skirt / chain bootie / lug sole boot (water resistant) / classic green statement earrings /

Fall trends are hitting the streets! Last week in New York, there were plenty of editors and buyers attending the scaled back fashion week, and showing off the IT items we always look forward to seeing in NYFW street style. We have discovered the new IT belt is no longer the double G belt, it’s the new single G belt; of course also from Gucci. Since I was in the market for a new belt due to my recent weight loss, I snapped up a new single G buckle belt in black, and it’s amazing! If you are in the market for a new investment belt, this is the one! You will love it!

What else was on the streets of New York? This fabulous pouch clutch continues to be a street style hit, plus it’s an IT bag priced under $1000. Love that!

Of course there were other bags not pictured here on the streets of fashion week. Small bags by Jacquemus, classic Chanel bags, anything Bottega Veneta, and Prada 1990s inspired bags such as the hard-to-get Cleo.

Brief overview of other trends from the streets included the power suit, a lot of orange, loafers in every style you can think of, and pleated skirts; they’re back! Thoughts to ponder as you shop for fall. . .

SALEALERT! Soma Intimates is holding a fabulous sale this week. The retailer is celebrating 17 years with an Anniversary Sale! Love! All of their bra’s are on sale for $29 and you can pick up a $5 panty with the purchase of a bra. This sale starts today and runs through September 19, 2021. You can shop the sale online now at SOMA.com.

Heads up! Coach has a limited number of handbags from their NYFW spring 2022 runway collection online. You can snap one up before they go to market in the spring season! I picked one up in vanilla! Check out their collection online here.

Fall 2021 skin care routine

Fall 2021 skin care routine from top left: face cream / eye cream / neck cream / body scrub / face wash / body lotion / body butter / hand cream /

It’s that time of year when I need to slightly adjust my skin care routine for the fall season. It really isn’t that much different from my summer skin care routine. While my skin needs therapy from the sun during the summer months, it needs repair in the fall season from both the summer and the dry autumn air.

This dark spot remover face cream from ReVive is perfect for correcting any damage done during the summer months. It also adds just the right amount of moisture during these dry months. I am prone to acne, and this face cream does not add anything extra; so I am break-out free. Love that!

You can laugh all you want, but I love pumpkin spice. I know, it’s so basic of me, but I don’t care, I love it! This pumpkin spice body butter evokes a fabulous fall vibe, and I am here for it. If you love the scent of pumpkin spice, you will love this body butter! Plus, it absorbs into the skin really well and keeps my skin perfectly moisturized. If body butter is too heavy for you, this sugar coconut body lotion smells divine, and is equally moisturizing. They are both great to have in your skin care arsenal. Love!

We are still using hand sanitizer and washing our hands frequently, so hand cream is a must. I am a huge fan of Colleen Rothschild’s hand cream. It keeps my hands in fabulous condition. I cannot live without a tube!

Spring 2022 trends from NYFW

The last model has walked off the runway in New York, and the last video has been released. This means we have a whole new set of fabulous trends to covet for the upcoming spring/summer 2022 season. Love!

There are several trends from last year which appear to be continuing into 2022. We are looking at the continuation of the Power Suit, vivid colors, all-white ensembles, exaggerated shoulders, shoulder pads, and wide leg pants.

As we head into 2022, look for more tailoring on clothing in general. Loungewear is taking a backseat, as is urban street-wear. We are looking at getting dressed again. Think skirts, dresses, and powerful pants. Handbags are medium to small, and will hold only the necessities.

The decades of influence include the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Think late1900s. There will be grown-up florals, groundbreaking right? haha, and solid, all-one-hue ensembles. Orange, baby blue and pink appear to be the favorite hues of New York designers for spring/summer 2022. The orange power suit will be huge, HUGE!!!

We are also looking forward to daytime sequins, one-shoulder looks, blazers over anything, and much more structure than we have seen in recent seasons; even with wider leg pants. Get ready to dress up!

So, if you are looking at what to keep, store, donate, or sell from your closet, keep and store anything structured, or in brighter hues. Keep blazers, one-shoulder looks, and sequins. Donate extra loungewear, you only need some, not a closet full! Same with sweatpants, only keep what you need for the gym or wearing around the house. Next spring, casual days will include jeans with blazers and casual dresses. Sweatpants and flip-flops can stay home. That being said, look for comfort sandals and street sneakers paired with dresses and dress pants in spring 2022. Your feet can stay happy.
