Soft and slouchy wins the race! The winter season, and as we move into 2024, is giving us soft and slouchy handbags. While the anonymous handbag is still king, the appreciation for high quality leather, which melts in your hands, is all the rage.

This winter 2024 season, and as we move into 2024, look for soft and slouchy bags, as well as east/west satchels. Doctor bags, such as the Givenchy Antigona, are also relevant.

So, without further ado, here are the main, emerging handbag trends for the winter 2024 season.

Slouchy hobos: While not pictured above, the slouchy hobo is hotter than hot. Look for soft and squishy hobo bags you can hug.

Slouchy tote bag: Soft and slouchy totes can be any size from small to extra large. They just need to be squishy and huggable.

The north/south tote: The north/south tote is ideal in a soft leather, but structured versions work too.

The east/west satchel: This emerging trend is expected to pop in the new year. Why not hop on the trend early? Look for both structured and slouchy versions of the east/west satchel. Pro tip: Coach has one coming out in the spring if you want one that doesn’t break the bank.

Slouchy satchels: The Row Margaux is the hottest slouchy satchel in town, and it is usually sold out. If you can spare the cash, and find one in stock, you are gold. If not, look for any satchel with a slouch.

Trends which are staying put:

The anonymous handbag: logos are still out. Look for beautifully made handbags which are logo-less or have a small brand stamp you need to move up close to see.

Hobo bags: Structured or slouchy, anything goes. Hobos are going strong in the new year.

Structured satchels: While slouchy ones are hot, structured satchels are still important. Think Mulberry zipped Bayswater, Saint Laurent Sac du Jour, or Givenchy Antigona. Keep those classic satchels on repeat!

The classic shoulder bag: Beautiful shoulder bags, both structured and slouchy, which bear a high-quality clasp and are logo-less, are still hot. Look for shoulder bags by Savette, Mulberry, Toteme, Bottega Veneta, The Row, Ralph Lauren, Coach, and more.

Easy Mango Guacamole recipe

Are you looking for a really easy guacamole recipe you can make mild for the kids, and spicy for the adults? You’ve come to the right place! This guacamole recipe takes almost zero kitchen skills, it is really easy to make, and your guests will think you are a chef! Love!

This particular guacamole is Mango Guacamole and it has a bit of sweetness to it which counteracts the spice and gives it a little somethin’ somethin’. If mango isn’t your thing, you can use pineapple, or nothing at all for a regular guacamole side dish.

I love using guacamole as an appetizer with chips, or as a side dish served with tacos, taquitos, flautas, burrito bowls, and more! It is a superfood side dish with endless possibilities.

So, without further ado, here is my super easy mango guacamole recipe which serves four people:

Ingredients:

4 avocadoes
3 tablespoons of Paul Newman’s Mango Salsa (I told you this was easy! HA!)
1/4 cup Lime Juice
Cayenne Pepper (season to taste)
1 teaspoon Paprika
3 dashes Salt

Peel and de-pit the avocadoes. Put the avocadoes in a mixing bowl and mash them using a strong fork or a potato masher. Once the avocadoes are mashed to your liking, add three tablespoons of Mango Salsa. You can substitute Paul Newman’s Pineapple Salsa or use regular salsa; your choice of flavor. Then, add the lime juice, paprika and salt to your liking. Add the cayenne pepper slowly to ensure it is the right level of spice for you.

Mix all of the ingredients together. The avocadoes will be less green due to the salsa, but the lime juice preserves them from turning brown right away, keeping your guacamole looking fresh. Love that!

Be sure to taste the guacamole before serving it and add more pepper for more kick. If you want it to be mild, do not add the cayenne pepper until you started to taste the guacamole. Then, add cayenne as needed. For small children, you might want to leave the pepper out altogether to give them a mild guacamole.

My favorite way to serve guacamole is in these cute and colorful salsa bowls! We use the bowls for more than just guacamole. They are great for serving any type of sauce, as well as serving eggs or keeping ice cream to one scoop. My kids use them for snacks too such as goldfish crackers and nuts. I highly recommend investing in a few of these bowls, they are incredibly useful, and I am not really sure how I lived without them before I bought a few! Love!

If you are local to the Bay Area, I recommend the chips from the Safeway deli instead of the chip aisle. They are less expensive and taste a lot better! Love!

The Bayswater style offers a more relaxed version of a structured handbag. It can drift easily between a formal office environment and weekend casual looks. I love the versatility!

This particular style is a mini satchel style which is more like a small handbag. It can fit much more than your average mini, making it easy to carry during any season. I can fit my wallet, phone, lipstick, and keys. In addition, I can add gloves, a thin scarf, and snacks. As you can see from the photos below, it is quite roomy for a mini bag!
