BAF Weekly IT List from top left: gemstone bracelets (under $50, local designer) / small top handle bag / bright blue blazer / spring nail polish / foundation powder / classic satchel / straw tote / small red hobo bag /

It was the week of the handbag! This week everyone is looking for a fabulous bag to wear now and well into the summer season. This straw tote bag is once again, a hot bag to own. If you already snapped one up last year, or the year before, you are all set! If not, this is a classic designer straw tote which happens to fit into the summer 2022 straw bag trend. Love that!

Soft and squishy handbags are hot right now too. Look for a classic one like this satchel, or an on trend soft hobo. Another hot handbag trend right is the small or micro bag trend. I can’t do ultra-mini, but this small top handle bag fits the trend while still fitting a phone and wallet. Whew!

Need a last-minute gift for Mother’s Day or graduation? These fabulous gemstone bracelets are perfect, plus they are under $50. I love that they are made here in San Jose by a local designer. Love!

My favorite trend of the season is the return of the power suit and blazers. This bright blue blazer is ideal for wearing with matching bottoms, or over jeans. This summer we will see blazers over shorts and dresses. Love this trend!

Affordable summer dress

affordable summer dress
summer dress under $50
mansur gavriel sun tote pink patent leather
dresses under $50

Wearing: sunglasses / statement earrings / print wrap dress (under $50) / gemstone bracelets (under $50) / pink tote (old, also love this one) / spring nail polish / slingback heels / biker shorts / tank top /

It’s dress season! I wore this wrap dress to a daytime tea event last weekend, and it worked out perfectly! Time got away from me, so I needed to find a dress pronto; this one arrived within 48 hours of me ordering it! Plus, it was under $50. Love that!

While I dressed it up for the event with slingback heels, this affordable summer dress can also be worn with sandals or espadrilles for a casual look in the warm summer months. I’m looking forward to styling it in different ways this season!

How cute is this tote bag? I am very sad that Mansur Gavriel only made it for two seasons. It is a handy tote bag which is strong and can carry a lot inside! I had to carry teacups to the event I attended, so this tote was perfect because I could fit three tea settings inside as well as my wallet, keys, and phone. While this tote isn’t for sale any longer, I did link to one that is equally practical and very cute. Hope you love it if you are in the market for a smaller, workhorse tote.

Wrap dresses can be a pain on windy days, so I always wear biker shorts and a tank top underneath my wrap dress. The day I wore this dress, also happened to be very windy! I was quite thankful for my biker shorts, haha.

Have you ever had to purchase a dress last minute? This is a good one to keep in mind! There are a few additional fabric choices too if this green print isn’t your thing. I am thinking of picking up another one in a different fabric for the summer. This dress is so easy to dress up or down, I love a versatile piece; especially when it is under $50!

Zinfandel Trail in Cupertino

zinfandel trail cupertino

Hiking outfit: black jacket / tee-shirt / jeans / G buckle belt / backpack / waterbottle / spring nail polish / hiking boots /

Last weekend, we decided to check out the Zinfandel Trail in Cupertino. This trail is adjacent to a beautiful winery by the name of Picchetti Winery. It is also part of the Steven Creek County Park which we have hiked in before.

This is a fabulous trail whether you are hiking with children, or a group who might be interested in wine tasting after the hike. We were with friends who had small children, and they were able to hike for two hours without complaining! It was great! That being said, don’t think is an easy trail. There are hills, twists and turns. If you hike the entire trail, you will end up on the other side of the reservoir; which is a long hike, but worth it for the beautiful views and amazing exercise.

I really enjoyed the Zinfandel Trail because a good portion of it was in the shade. This meant we had enough sun and shade to not overheat or get burned. Of course, always wear sunscreen! We did!

There were some cute little wildlife sightings along the trail which the kids enjoyed. We saw large and furry caterpillars, as well as various types of lizards in red, green, and grey. There was a variety of birds, and an unidentified animal sound which the kids enjoyed trying to guess what they heard.

The one sad part about this trail is that you can see how low the reservoir is right now during our drought. To top it off, the pond along the trail is completely dry. We are in the middle of spring, which is the end of our rainy season. This means our ponds and reservoirs should be full and thriving. Unfortunately, that is not the case at all. Let’s pray for an odd rainstorm to help us out!

Despite being low, the reservoir still provided a beautiful view and a glimpse at some pretty water. The Zinfandel Trail does provide some spectacular views! You will be rewarded for the work you put in to hike it. I would call this a medium trail.

Of course, if you leave the kids at home, the winery opens at 11am for wine tasting. You can not only have the reward of fabulous views, but a little vino too! Love that! We had kids with us, so we admired the pretty winery from afar.

The Zinfandel Trail can be accessed off Montebello Road which is off Stevens Canyon Road. It is an easy find off highway 85.

I hope you have a chance to check out this beautiful trail!

Thanks for stopping by!
