Military green jacket: the trend returns

Military green jackets have made a comeback on the street for the spring and summer 2013 seasons. This casual article of clothing was hot back in the late 1990’s and thankfully I kept this jacket made from D&G Sport. The military green jacket is a great, lightweight basic to have in your closet. The color is somewhat neutral and blends well with shades of brown, autumn hues, yellows, dark red, pinks, black and white. The jacket style is easy to wear in moderate weather and perfect for foggy days here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Laura Mercier Bare Rose nail polish for summer 2013 review

One of the biggest trends in nail polish for the summer 2013 season, and moving into the fall 2013 season, is the nude nail. Laura Mercier’s new summer 2013 nail polish hue, “Bare Rose,” fits perfectly into the nude nail trend this season while offering a splash of sweet color.

The nude nail look this season is a bare hue with a slight splash of color. Instead of traditional beige, summer 2013 is bringing us nude nail polish hues which offer pink or coffee colors infused into the polish. “Bare Rose” by Laura Mercier is the perfect pinkish-nude hue for the summer of 2013 as it offers the on-trend color as well as high quality saturation.

I tested out Laura Mercier’s “Bare Rose” nail polish with one base coat and two coats of color. The polish went on smooth without streaking; a huge feat when it comes to pale polishes! As with all of Laura Mercier’s nail polishes, “Bare Rose” is long-lasting and does not chip easily. The polish lasted a full week without chipping. Love that!

“Bare Rose” by Laura Mercier is a sophisticated nude pink which acts as the perfect background for summer 2013’s bright color palette and colorful prints. Laura Mercier’s “Bare Rose” nail polish for summer 2013 is also easy to wear with both daytime and evening attire.

Laura Mercier “Bare Rose” nail polish is limited edition and priced at $18. “Bare Rose” by Laura Mercier can be found online here.

Santana Row spring fashion show: wearing Calypso St. Barth

The Santana Row fashion show took place on June 1, 2013 and I was honored to wear a gifted outfit from the Row’s newest, chicest retailer, Calypso St. Barth. This amazing shop features clothing and accessories which take their inspiration from the island paradise. Coincidentally, we have such warm weather here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the clothing and accessories from Calypso St. Barth work perfectly with our climate and “California Casual” style. They even feature lightweight cashmere cardigans which are chic and perfect for when the fog rolls in! I have my eye on this one.

The clothing is made from lightweight, high quality and breathable materials including silk, linen and cotton. There are also items from local designers and products with a charitable cause.

I have already washed the skirt and top and they held up well. Both pieces look brand new; as if they had never been washed! Love that! As someone who values high quality fabrics and construction, I am thrilled to have Calypso St. Barth so close to my house. I have also purchased a few pieces from the store and cannot wait to wear them! If you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a Calypso St. Bath store at Larkspur Landing, Stanford Shopping Center and of course, Santana Row! If you are not local, please visit CalypsoStBarth.com and you can either shop online or find a store in your area. You will love their boutique!
