We had a glimpse of spring last week with temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s, and it was fabulous! The weather was perfect for a classic black top and jeans. Love!
I met up with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun at Valley Fair and we enjoyed the Fire Horse decorations as well as a pasta meal at Eataly. It was so nice to relax and enjoy time with my friend!
So, when you scroll through Instagram so you get ads for the same retailers over and over again? I do. There is one retailer, Modern Citizan, which is always in my feed. I decided to give in to temptation and order this black top from them. It has rushing on the side and an asymmetrical neckline which I find extremely flattering.
The top was moderately priced, so I was praying it would be nice since I have never seen this brand in person. Thankfully, it was! The fabric is thick and the construction is strong. It’s a good fabric for fall, winter and spring. It might be too thick in the summer, but we shall see when the summer season gets here! Overall, I am happy with the top, so I will definitely order from them again in the future.

Have you ever given in to an Instagram ad? How did it go?
While there are trending styles which will last throughout the year and into next year, there are also standout styles for the spring season. This season, it is time to pull certain styles from our closets and bring them to the front, as well as invest in new bags we feel will carry us through the spring season and beyond.
Spring 2026 is a fabulous season in handbags. The spring handbag trends include practical styles we can wear on a daily basis as well as wear in the future. Many of the styles are timeless treasures for our wardrobe. Love that!
The overall vibe for handbags this spring season is a continuation of the anonymous handbag. Handbags should not bear logos, and they should be clean, high quality, and easy to use. Handbags which are for show, and not for actually carrying things, are not hot.
The color palette for our spring 2026 handbags should be mostly neutral with one or two bags in a fun color such as blue, or yellow. When it comes to neutral, black is always king, but we are also seeing shades of white and lighter brown hues.
On social media you may see excessive bag charms, silly mini stuffed objects, and cluttered add-ons. This is not happening on the street. Handbags should be left alone unless you add a twilly (skinny scarf often wrapped around bag handles) to keep your handles clean. Otherwise, please refrain from adding charms, silly stuffed objects, and anything which hangs off the bag other than an extra strap or chain strap.
Speaking of chains, classic chains are hot this spring. You can add a chain strap to your bag! This is the only thing you can add. Chains are hot, so feel free to wear your chain bags or add a chain to a favorite bag in your closet.
Wondering which styles to wear this spring season? Don’t worry, I got ya covered! So, without further ado, here are the spring 2026 handbag trends to rock this warm weather season.
Belted tote: The belted tote is still going strong. So, if you already own one, fabulous! If not, I recommend investing in this classic style. It’s great to wear casually, on the weekends, and in the office. The belted tote is a versatile style!
East/West bags: This long style is still going strong. Look for horizontal clutches, daytime bags, and totes. The east/west silhouette is still hotter than hot.
Drawstring bags: Whether it’s a bucket bag, tote, or pouch, the drawstring bag is back! You can pull yours out of the back of your closet, or invest in a new one. Either way, this slouchy and casual style is hot this spring season.
Early 2000’s IT bags: Do you have an IT bag from 15-20 years ago collecting dust in your closet? Dust that baby off! Old IT bags are back, especially the Balenciaga City bag. Other retro styles include the Fendi Spy, Fendi Baguette, and Chloe Paddington. Did you have your eye on one but never actually purchased one? Never fear, the city bag, the Baguette and the Paddington are back on store shelves! Treat yourself to the bag that got away.
Bowling bag: This is an emerging handbag style to watch. While classic, it is gaining momentum for spring and next fall. This is a great style in invest in right now. Love!
Remember, handbags right now are all about quality, no logos! Look for investment bags you can wear often without fuss. You will enjoy your investment more if you can reach for it multiple times per week rather than store on a shelf.
