Fringe sweater vest and a pop of pink

fall outfit ideassan jose street stylefringe vest fall 2020 holidays winter

wearing: antique gold hoop earrings / pink scarf (under $100) / black long sleeve tee / black snake buckle belt / black fringe sweater vest / destroyed jeans (under $50) / black handbag / holiday nail polish / antique gold chain bracelet (fits small) / black block heel boots (under $200) /

The weather is finally cooling off, so I pulled out this fringe vest, and this light pink scarf, which are part of my upcoming holiday capsule wardrobe; and I wore them out! I will call this my fall into the holidays look. That works, right?? haha

For the upcoming holiday season, I am more in the mood to rock berry hues with warm clothing, rather my usual red and green Christmas color palette. While Christmas is still the main event for me, I am in a pink, red, and purple mood this year. You will see the vibe when my holiday capsule wardrobe goes live later this week! It is a little delayed this year since I am still waiting for a few pieces to arrive that I ordered over two weeks ago. Apparently the one package I am waiting for, is the only package I have had delayed this year. Go figure!

This fringe sweater vest will be really fun this holiday season. It can be worn over any color long sleeve tee. I plan to wear it mostly with the two tee’s that have not arrived yet, they are burgundy and pink. For Christmas, I can wear it over my red long sleeve tee from last year, and pair it with green earrings. This fringe sweater vest is just the right weight to keep me warm, without being too hot. It’s great to wear indoors or outdoors. I am in love! You will see me in this vest a lot the next couple months!

I wore this fall into the holiday season outfit last week to Valley Fair Mall. Don’t worry, I wore a mask. I only popped it off for the photos while we were outside, and not around any other people.

Family day at the Pumpkin Patch

wearing: mask / lapis and gold earrings / stripe top / snake buckle belt / fall nail polish / lapis bead bracelet / gold link cuff / handbag / light wash patchwork jeans (under $40!) / water resistant lug sold boots /

Fall is here! This year, seeing the pumpkin patch open was thrilling! Normally we wait until a week before Halloween to visit the pumpkin patch. Our goal has always been to buy pumpkins to carve for Halloween. This year, Halloween is going to be much smaller since we aren’t allowed to trick or treat, and the kids cannot attend their normal Halloween gatherings. Therefore, the pumpkin patch took on a new meaning for me this year; decorate for fall.

Despite the ninety-degree weather out there right now, fall is here. So, to get into the spirit, I’ve been stocking up on any pumpkin food at the market I can find. I also invested in a new fall wreath for the front door, and bought pumpkins early to decorate the front door! I have to admit, I love the fall decor! Oh, and I also bought those mini gourds and pumpkins to decorate my kitchen table. Yes, I am overboard for fall this year. haha, don’t hate!

We didn’t spend a long time at the pumpkin patch this year, since we are trying to stay safe and not get sick. We were there just long enough to pick out some really cute pumpkins for the front door, which will get carved a few days before Halloween, and snap a few quick pictures! After all, is it really fall if you don’t take a picture with a pumpkin? Cheesy-yes, necessary-also yes!

Are you heading out to the pumpkin patch this year? Do you usually buy pumpkins to decorate for fall, or are you looking for future jack-o-lanturns?

I hope you are having a fabulous fall season. Oh, and if you are looking for a good laugh, I fell into, then had trouble getting out of, a giant chair. Kudos to my son for capturing my fall. You can see it below.

Fall day in the city

The fall season is here, and since my daughter is a junior in high school, we are starting to look at colleges. I cannot believe we are already looking at colleges! Of course, we are starting hyper-local. So far, we took her to look at Stanford and UCSC. When I realized she was looking at local schools, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show her my Alma Mater-USF!

Over the weekend we started our adventure at the A.L.C pop-up shop at 2011 Fillmore in San Francisco, then we ate lunch and headed over to USF so I could give my daughter the full tour; as full a tour as possible during a pandemic, when schools are virtual for the semester.

We parked right in front of campus (um-when does that happen?!), and then I brought my family down to the baseball field, and took them throughout the campus. There was a lot of new construction on campus, which was fun for me to see since those buildings and add-ons weren’t there when I was a student. It was really fun to give my family a tour, talk about the buildings, and student life at USF. I used to give college tours to prospective families when I was a student, so I felt like a collegiate again, which was fun!

My daughter enjoyed the tour, and really liked the campus. I am not sure if the major she wants is available at USF, but at least she liked the campus! If she doesn’t choose to apply there, maybe one of my other kids will want to be a Don, just like their mother!

I have to give a shout-out to these boots. I just bought these square toe booties for the fall season, and decided to wear them for the first time in the city. We did a ton of walking, and these boots were so comfortable! I love the roomy square toe, and good foot support. I am looking forward to wearing these boots often this season since they are not only on trend, but great for walking!

I hope you are getting chances to rock your new fall looks!
